AXS is actually heavier than Di2... I guess the obvious parts are crankset (with classic 50/34 or 52/36 combination there are more lightweight options than for Sram AXS) and wheelset (e.g. I ride a custom-built 45mm wheels that are slightly over 1300g)
Also saddle can save you a lot :) (depending on what is your current one)
Today my wheelset is about 1650gr with 40mm front and 50mm rear, for sure can be improve.
My saddle is Fizik Antares R1.

The thru axles are also a way, price/weight saving must be evaluate...
How many gr can be save by new crankset ?

Thanks.

But I still don't understand if this round part on the pic below which the axle goes through, which is a separate part is needed or not. Do these other axles go on without that part?

That's a good point. I must admit that I did'nt think about it. I ll try to remove that rounded part from the Syncros axle to check if it can be installed on the Carbon-Ti axle (but I don't think so). In my opinion, this round part is just a washer, it's there to avoid the axle to damage the fork when you screw it (avoiding friction). The carbon-ti axle already has a nylon washer.

Thanks. I forgot to post about how it went. You're right, the Carbon-Ti went on there without needing that part. Which was a relief since it would have been a headache to find otherwise.

Anyone have the actual weight of a Creston SL 120/400 bar?

I recently had to change to a 120mm stem wich weighs 300g! So I'm thinking that once I'm sure about the stem length, to change to a SL. Curious wether the lighter but less aero 40 bars would be faster than my current 380 Vision Metron. I ride where there are no hills pretty much. No climb longer than 2 min.

Right now 300g stem + 208g bars is 508g. So I'm curious how much weight I would be saving. I've read 330g for the Creston SL but not sure for which width.

Another thing. I've asked this before but can't find the answer. Are the SL's 40cm on the hoods or narrower on the hoods? Are they flared at all?

Selling the Metrons and both stems would probaly bring in about the price of the Creston SL.

Team,

I have an Addict RC (2020 model) with Campagnolo Bora WTO 60 wheels and Continental GP5000 TL tyres (25mm). I plan to go wider and would like to know if 28mm tyres on a Zipp 303 Firecrest (30mm external width) will fit the frame. Do you have any first hand experience?

Using those. I had/have some 28c tires blowing up to close to 31.5mm and they are OK. A 30c tire growing up to 33mm for instance I guess it would be a problem.

I run Roval Rapide CLX wheels on mine, with 28mm tyres. Front wheel is 35mm external (21mm internal), rear wheel is 30.7mm external (21mm internal). There is plenty clearance front and rear, no issues whatsoever. HTH

My 110/400 is 331g including the cap. 40cm is at the hoods, end-to-end is 41cm.
I guess the Creston IC SL is less aero than the Vision even at the same width.

32mm was mentioned, but I guess that it was close to the real width. If your 28mm grows to 31mm, then I guess 32 will grow to something like 34. In a week I would like to try my other wheels with 32mm tyre, which is 32,6mm real width, I will let you know how it fits.
So in anticipation of some big climbing in Andorra I've put on my Farsports Gravel, which are shallower (30) and wider (30ext) than my usual HUNTs CAD50, which comes in handy in the big mountains. These are left over from my other bike (r.i.p), which was endurance focused, so they were equipped with 28mm in the front and 32mm in the back. At first I thought it looked sketchy on such a race machine, but man, the descending is sooo good on wide tyres (vs usual 25mm) so I left them on. Anyway 32 is the limit in the back, the clearance is already so small, that I wouldn't risk going onto gravel with it.

Nice, I love that color. It would be interesting if they had a frame in all silver, like the back of your frame.

Thanks. So I would be saving maybe 170g then. I don't know about how aero both are, there is really no way to know.

Between the hoods right now it's 36cm, middle to middle. That's without bending them inwards. So I don't know, I'll see what I will do. I'm also experimenting with pitch, rolling the bars up or down. Which can't be done with the integrated bars.

They have: 2021 Addict RC10

I'm not sure if Id use it with 32 measured tires. 28-30 should be fine though

It doesn't look the same to me. Isn't the RC 10 matte silver?

How long can I ride with spacers above the stem? I have 2cm of spacers above. I think Scott are saying to not ride like that for long but just test it and then cut the steerer. Is it dangerous or why are they saying that?
