^ you might go crazy with the wait, another bike beckons, your heart goes for something new and then a year later you have a new old replacement hand surplus to your needs. If it isn't a case where the entire frame can be exchanged at the shop, all bets are off on the wait for a return to the factory.

How does Colnago even stay in business with such appaling quality control and customer service? Its not like their bikes are anything special.

I'll certainly never buy another Colnago again. If I'd known just how bad they where I would never have bought one in rretrospect.

Yeah, it’s paint, so I’d rather take my chances with a good local paint specialist than be sending it back. But for sure Colnago had better be paying for it, and I can’t see why they wouldn’t if you send them the pictures you just posted. If not, then on principle I wouldn’t be accepting the frame and want my money back, in full.
Tell me, when you took it out of the box, was there a brake liner run through the top tube taped at both ends. Because if there was, and there has been on the ones I’ve seen, then how could they have not have noticed that when fishing out the liner from that port. They couldn’t not have noticed it in my opinion so to send it out like that... hmmmm.
Well it was from the official retailer in Hong Kong. Yes there was a brake guide/liner.
I actually checked the frame when I got it back in March 2018 and it was all good.

A member above actually said it might be the shimano brake housing, the metal end part reacting, (yes I know, sacrilegious, Shimano on Colnago) I didn't see any warning from Colnago about using shimano parts. I'm going to check the Campagnolo Chorus brake housing and see if their's is metal end

I'm sure a friendly car body shop could sort that out in an afternoon.
Yea, I'll see what the retailer says, got to wait for the 'Colnago expert' to come back from his holiday

Actually their Italy side customer service, at least the 'reply' part was very good. She replied within 24hrs of me sending her the photos.
Like the others have said above, getting it fix maybe a different story.

Thanks, looks like a fix here in Hong Kong by the retailer is way better than sending the frame back.
Time to search for a temporary ride....second hand used...Factor O2, Giant TCR, C59...maybe not, Emonda, Canyon, shame theres no Tarmac SL5s now that SL6 is out.

waited 3 months for a Colnago Master Light, paint job was really bad. Flakes off if you look at it wrong, over sprays and dirt spots under the clear coat on the white panels where it says Colnago. Hand painted by a 5 year old maybe, I could do a better job on filling in the letters that spell colnago without it smearing all over the damn place

Returned the frame and went another router. Seller was Maestro UK, not pleasant to work with and he said that is normal for colnagos. He still haven't refunded me my VAT import duty that he promised to. I will never consider or buy a Colnago again. rant over :beerchug:

PS: Ritchey road logic at 1/3 of the cost has way better finishing and paint quality.
