I know SRAM has said the max cog size of the SRAM Axs rear road deraileur is 33t. But i'm wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to try a 46t or possibly the new Shimano CS-M7100-12 10-45t cassette.

I have been watching this spreadsheet for any new cassettes: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1267427822

Chain roller size wouldn't work with a Shimano cassette unfortunately. After years of cross brand compatability it now looks like 12 speed from Shimano (based on MTB at least), Campagnolo and SRAM are no longer interchangeable. Grrrrr.

Even if the chains were compatible, the cog spacing is slightly different between 12s Shimano and SRAM. See viewtopic.php?t=152690.

Why not get a mountain bike AXS rear derailleur and cassette if you want mountain bike gearing? XX1 and X01 AXS rear derailleurs work with Red or Force AXS shifters...

That's strange, I didn't realize there was a discrepency between the chains...

I actually DO have a "mullet" set up on my gravel bike (Force axs shifters with an XX1 rear deraileur). That is using the E*Thirteen 9-46 Cassette and the chain that came with it...

From that build, I have left over flat bar shifter, and a Force rear deraileur, so, i'm trying to decide if i'm going to keep it and build up a 1x flat bar bike. If I do that, i'd like to have a greater than 33t cog in the back for climbing (I live in the San Francisco Bay area which is super hilly).
