This "support thing" seems to be something specific to the US... most companies in Germany don't (used to) offer free support because their stuff "just works", so there's no need to have people wasting time answering e-mail (or phone calls)...

PS: what kind of questions did you actually have? Something that could be answered by reading the fine manual or the website of the manufacturer?
