Has anyone tried the Tipsum titanium axles and bow ties for SP zero that are on eBay? They are 48$ for the pair versus 58$ for J&L. Also the axles looks to be around 2 grams lighter for the pair.

Just looking for a second set of Ti axles for my wife’s bike, and wondering if these are any good.

Thanks

I ordered a pair of the Tipsum spindles, bow ties, and X11sl chain (another KMC copy of course). I’ll report back with weights when they get here.

Got the parts.

The chain is within a gram of claimed weight. It’s 118 grams uncut, and includes the quick link.

The bow ties are under weight by about a gram.

The spindles are overweight by about 4 grams.

I’ll update the thread when I install these later. The chain won’t go on until later when I need to wax my old chain again.

And the final pic of the chain cut to 106 links. It weighs 6 grams less than my PYC chain cut to the same. Both weights include the provided quick link.
The Tipsum link doesn’t feel as nice as a KMC, so I’ll swap it out at the next waxing.

We’ll see how long this chain lasts compared to my PYC SP1101. That chain has 2800 miles on it and still passes the stretch test according to the little park tool gauge.

I installed the spindles and bow ties. The parts fit the way they should, and the pedals went from 206.1g to 148.8g for the pair.

I can still change the screws to Ti if I want to save a little more weight.
