Based on the picture and amount of seatpost showing, the frame doesn't look way too large. Looking at the Felt Z4 geo chart, going down a size only results in 10mm less reach but 20mm less stack. If he goes down a size, he'd have to add 20mm more of spacers.

This just doesn't all add up. Victor, to help you we'd need a picture of you on the bike.

I'm 176cm and I ride ~50cm frames.

If you really want to get into cycling better swap the frame.

No I meant split nose saddles like the Ism Adamo. There are many variations of this seat out there, originals and cheap copies.

A large frame has a longer head tube. That's also why you ride in the drops a lot to compensate for that.
Do you have shorter than normal torso/ arms?
Yes, I do. You are very perceptive.

Short arms/torso means you go down one size and suffer from short head tubes.

Short legs means you'll suffer from long head tubes, but it's less of an issue.

I agree. If I didn't waste time reading this thread I'd have said it's in the vicinity of a 53cm ETT Small or even an XS.

You don't seem too stretched to me and your arm bend looks correct angle wise, what issues are you getting with the current setup?

If the issues are coming from the saddle, maybe try one with a cutout and make sure it's the right width for your sitbones (not sure of your sitbone measurement but your current saddle looks narrow).

Your saddle height also seems fine.

Err, I'm really confused now.
To me you look sat up high like an endurance bike, and that frame looks a 48cm frame not 55cm.

Something is very wrong here.

Put on a normal length 100mm stem and remove the spacers and let us have another photo maybe.

His handlebars are a little high (~47deg back angle) so he could go lower but it depends on his goals/flexibility/mileage etc.
If anything going lower and longer should be done overtime if that's what he is aiming for.

Bike size (54) seems correct, too.

Your position looks much better than I thought it would be looking just at the bike alone. One thing seems to be that your saddle might be too high. Looking at your left leg at nearly bottom dead center, your knee looks nearly fully extended. Not sure if you are actively pedaling in those shots or not but if you are, you look a bit hunched trying to take pressure off your perineum and out of your overly extended hamstrings. Drop the saddle, roll the pelvis forward (might need a more comfortable saddle); that will give you more ability to comfortably reach your handlebars

Yeah it's become confusing. On those photos it does seem rather shortish (and high) for that person, frame size seems ok for the endurance geometry.
So I assume it's more about the person current condition/flexibility etc.

It could be due to my low flexibility, I tried going lower and it it triggers my Sciatica quickly. Thanks for the input.
