What year was the first izalco max released?

Is there a year more desireable for low weight/high stiffness?

It sure would help if any year is "best" but I'm usually not that lucky.

In China a good condition 2nd hand izalco max is like 1200usd which is a bit annoying. (rim brake)

Hi

I don’t know if you can find any , there out of business.
A NeilPryde BuraSL in the small sizes were 725gram ish with a 300 gram fork and very stiff.
I have two 2014 and 2015
You can run 28mm tires and a 27.2 seat post.
One I use for every day and the other is weightweenie everything I could afford.

It seems any year focus izalco max 2014 to 2016 is the same frame which should be same weight. Can someone confirm?

yes, we..äh, i can!;-)
i rode a 2014- and a 2017-izalco max , both matte clear, size 52. 2014-model weighed 714gr, 2017 weighed 718 gr., although fork weight as good as identical (281gr. vs 278 gr., cut, if i remember right), as well as everything else.

A idea on the 2018 model weight?
So besides the Focus, which other currently mass production frameset is in the low 700g range and stiff?

Probably none! That is if you mean stiff!?
Using stiffer carbon yields a more brittle frame.
Some manufacturers have been creeping up a bit talking weight, but i'm sure there are reasons.
Impact resistance (safety) not to mention stiffness. Merida Scultura Ltd had quite bad reviews (being a noodle).
I just went from Vial EVO D to Vial EVO Race. It gained some weight, but the frame has been made stiffer and reinforced.
They've slightly overseen impact resistance to.
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

its a bit heavier (ca 800 gr), but maybe one or another might be interested:
lightweight urgestalt 2018 frameset currently for 1199.- euro, with code RCZLGF, valid until 24.05. midnight cet.
for those who dont know the shop: its located in luxembourg and absolutely relieable (ok, i am a bit pissed, because i paid 2000.- euro for the frame 2 month ago, but ok...)
time of delivery is longer than written, expect 2 month!

This thread got me looking at focus. Saw one on eBay and seller sent me pic of it. Seller didn’t say what size it was and can’t read Korean.

Glossy paint is probably the reason it's heavier

I don't read korean and we don't know if the frame still has its headset bearings, derailleur hanger or seatpost clamp.
