Does anyone have any experience running this lightweight crank? My LBS said they fall apart and do not recommend them at all. However, this same shop doesn't like campy either so....

Why are you talking to a shop that doesn't sell THM about THM products? Plenty have them. They go well.

I have them. I'm 150 lbs so not a very powerful rider. No issues with them so far. Nothing beats Shimano chainrings though.

I think in a way the same argument goes the opposite way.

"Why are you talking to someone with an economic interest about the products they sell?"

No matter how smart your lbs is in your eyes it's probably wise to look through real buyer reviews (not one but several) on the internet beforehand.

it is a lie. the only problem with claviculas is the non drive bolt which can come loose or shear. the new non drive bolt corrects this.

Other than stated above which did actually happen to me, out on a ride the crank arm decided to come off and hang from my shoe, they are an excellent crank. The cranks now come with two tiny grub screws which holds the bolt in place. Never had a problem since.

The only thing i could argue about is the Q-factor of all THM cranks.
Very wide, too wide even!
It would also be nice to see a version with increased chainline

The q-factor of a Clavicula SE is 148mm. Shimano DA is 146mm, and Campy SR is 145.5mm. That is 1-1.2mm difference per side.

I have the SE on a few bikes and a M3 on another. no issues of falling apart.

If properly installed, you shouldn't have an issue with them...like NDS crank falling off. I always use Loctite 242 on the clamping bolt and after tightening up the pre-load bolt, I tighten it up a bit more after torquing the clamping bolt.

Just like Kcookie, I too had the SE cranks the minute they were first released (without the new and improved grub screw) and I did have the crank arm come off during a ride one time. I contacted THM, they fixed the problem and their customer service was top notch. I have never had another problem, despite not using the grub screw but instead just adding some Loctite on the threads.

I am certain that wheelsONfire nor anyone else can tell a 1mm width difference in a set of cranks.

Any places to get them at a better price? Or annual sales? Just so expensive!

Also experienced the cover cap fallen while riding. Afterwards apply carbon paste and tightened a bit, no problems since that...ImageImage
