I am using a Shimano cassette and chain....so it's not as difficult of a switch as you may think.gurk700 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 8:09 pmNice! With the 33g less on actual I think it would be pretty close enough. Going Campy would be tough for me with all the current wheels etc but I've learned to never say never!saverin wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 4:58 pmHere are the weights of some of my EPS V3 setup and some claimed weights* for SR with your chain and cassette weight.
Rear Derailleur (SR11 EPS) - 198g*
Front Derailleur (SR11 EPS) - 127g*
Battery (EPS v3) - 136g
Brifters (SR11 EPS) - 263g*
cassette (yours) - 209g
chain (yours) - 249g
Interface (EPS V3) - 32g
total - 1213g
Note: Claimed weight for V3 battery is higher than my actual weight....so you could take 33g off this final number if you want to go with claimed weight.
9150 is actually lighter than eTap for most of us.
That's good to know! Have ZERO experience with Campy stuff but I've always loved the aesthetics of super record stuff. Kinda have no reason to switch atm but perhaps if I ever build another bike!saverin wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 10:16 pmI am using a Shimano cassette and chain....so it's not as difficult of a switch as you may think.gurk700 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 8:09 pmNice! Oh right, that's why the weights were closer than I remembered (and total weight higher). I use sram red cassette with my 9150 along with KMC chain. So 158g and 217, respectively. Fwiw, I had a DA9k cassette that was like 175g in 11-25

I forgot to add lights to that list. How cool would that be to carry only one (or two) 40gr high density 18650 cell to power everything. Their capacity is 3600mAh these days. Sure they don't like the cold.gurk700 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 6:40 amohhh computer from battery is interesting idea. most sensors are moving parts so not sure how that would be possible though.alcatraz wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 6:32 amBravo shimano. I'm a sram guy but I gotta give credit where credit is due. 230gr for a pair of shifters
It would be cool if sensors/computer/derailleurs all ran off the same battery. The computer also ought to be android with call functionality so we could leave the phone home.![]()
Why don't bike computers include a white position light function at least? Seems like something they could have thought of. Android/call functionality can come later. I think wahoo/garmin would fear such a project.
Yep, I've got one of those also. Not 15-20g lighter but they are a little lighter and they're cheaper.

Uncut doesn't matter so much. Shortened to the same length, my PYC and KMC DLC are 214 and 217g, respectively.
