Fair enough I was running a new ultegra bb and within a few rides it was creaking. I weighed that at 100g and the hope is 112g. For an extra 12g I can live with that.
and BB30's are like 60 grams so I'll take that :P

I'm a little skeptical of using super sticky silicone grease for bottom brackets, especially the press fit variety. A grease, no mater how sticky is going to prevent squeaks by allow the bearings to move a little in the PF BB shell. That could be fine on a metal shell but it might contribute to enlarging the bore on a carbon shell.

Using retaining compound to hold the bearings in place without allowing movement still sounds like a better solution.
No. Wako's doesn't allow movement. You're talking theory vs proven method for years. I didn't post this as a question. I'm saying, for bearings pressed into frame with no integrated BB, Wako's is proven to work. I've removed / reinstalled the bearings couple times for rerouting di2 purposes and so has others for years. No creaks. No reservice issues. No damage to frame.

If you have no creak issues or other solutions that have worked, great! But this is the best thing I know that works as opposed to added weight of an integrated BB or using other retaining compounds that have failed to work.

Oh I see my bad, I'm using a bb86. The ultegra one came in at 100g and hope 112g. But bb30 I'm not sure to be totally honest.

I just bought a 100g. tube of Wako's brake protector from a seller on eBay. $57.50 shipped from Japan...the most expensive grease I've ever bought. I have a creak on my tandem that's driving me mad. Technically it's not a BB creak. The BB cups are nylon and they sit inside an eccentric. It's the eccentric that's rubbing against the BB shell causing the creak. I'm giving this stuff a try and will post my results here. Thanks to the OP and DarkInstall for highlighting the product.

Three (or maybe it's four times) I've followed the Cannondale instructions on the use of retaining compound to the letter. Can be super difficult / stressful removing BB's that have been fitted using that process.
Retaining compounds will soften when you apply moderate heat for example from a hair dryer.

Is that for just the bearings or a similar setup as the Hopes?

Just the bearings. I have BB30 shell and BB30 bearings with a true BB30 crank so the whole BB setup is just those 2 bearings. No integrated setup or adapters needed.

the YouTuber: Rides of Japan uses it on his gravel UP bike and all other installs he has done. Seems to like it.

I use the Morgan Aqua Paste and its a sticky gummy stuff that probably is similar.

The SDS for the Wacko V160...

https://www.wako-chemical.co.jp/global- ... 135437.pdf

It's a silicone grease with boron nitride.

I used the liqui moly "Bremsen-Anti-Quietsch-Paste" that was suggested above one an already creaking aluminium frame + plastic cup combination last weak... And it continued to creak. Since the price of wako is close of a decent BB cup like the token ninja, I wasn't ready to pay the shipment price for EU.

https://sichdatonline.chemical-check.de ... 018_EN.pdf <- no boron nitride in the liqui moly, only titanium dioxide and calcium dihydroxide

I just developed a creak which i believe to be coming from my BB on Madone. Seeing that I am currently living in Japan, Im going to give this a try this weekend. More to follow....

Or u could just buy a hope press fit bb.

https://www.hopetech.com/products/drive ... m-bracket/

It's a press fit system that allows the cups to tread into one another that's what I used and it's never creaked since.
I use the Wheels Manufacturing ones - also a thread-together design, but available to fit more different BB shell and axle varieties: https://wheelsmfg.com/bottom-brackets.html
