Good news - new disc brake fork design 40% reduction in fork twist compared to f10. Also an increase in braking power for the rimbrake with a switch to direct mount brakes.

Bad news - fork steerer now is straight 1 1/2”, this means no aftermarket stems just the most talon.

As someone has already mentioned I see DM brakes on the rim brake version. I also see a DM RD hanger. Perhaps this is the start of a trend towards more DM hangers on mass-volume bikes. DM hanger (road and MTB) has been around for a while but bike manufacturers have been slow to adopt.

ps I saw the DM hanger on the bike on the GNC video. I don't see it on bike shown on other sites.

Hasn't Pinarello (or Most, technically speaking?) already supplied a DM hanger for F10?

Pinarello already has the DM hanger for some time now through its MOST component.

Why so much hate for Pinarello? Because of price? They have one of the most aero bikes without looking like a space rocket, true universal bike for flats and mountains...
I have never ridden it, people say it is a bit harsh to ride, but they deserve credits for Dogma..

It starts on the tops on the bars and then goes through the bar to the bottom - looks a lot easier than a lot of solutions, especially for Mechanical.

That’s enormous!
Why on earth would they need such a steerer? I mean it's already hard enough to find a 1 1/4" stem (i.e. Canyon and Giant). The only 1 1/2" stems are for MTB applications if I'm not wrong.

The bump on the horizontal tube is almost acceptable, (reminds me a willier) but this fork is a nightmare to watch!!
The remake of the seatstays is disturbing too.
I would accept this design decisions if the weight and watt savings were significant.
Definitely not a frame that will be timeless. It feels already old.

I am surprised that none of the publications at least ask a question as to why the top tube and fork had to have this weird shape. Did it show better numbers in the windtunnel? Was it lighter/stiffer? Or offered more compliance? Or is it purely stylistic???

I am wondering with the total internal cable routing (TiCR) for mechanical groupsets through the stem and head tube, and all the bends the cable has to make, if the shifting quality will be compromised. Seems like this frame would be better suited for hydraulic disc brakes and electronic shifting. I am not seeing any cable ports on this frame at all.

I wonder how often new CFD algorithms come out and if this is the main reason for constant change in shape.

My guess is they wanted a horizontal TT for maximum attachment in front of the rider's legs. Then it kinks down to make the main triangle more compact (stiffer, lighter) expose more seat tube (compliance,) etc. where the airflow is turbulent anyway.

You're not going to see massive changes. The shape of a race bike is more limited by rules/regulations than mathematical discoveries...CFD itself is quite mature...determining which variable race conditions are most important maybe less so.

Look had a huge kink in their 596 top tube, and the Bolide has a kink too, albeit smoother. Wonder if this is an earnest aero feature, or just some stylistic tic.

Actually really liking this new F12, looks brooding and bio-engineered. The whole black and red thing needs to stop though. Some designers are clearly stuck in the 80s. We get it, black and red go well together. Move on, it's 2019.
