Unexpected Hole in Downtube

Received a Canyon SF SL 8.0 Di2/Disc the other day. I noted that there is an unexpected hold in the down tube between the bottle cage bolts. It's crudely plugged by a plastic plug that can be removed with fingers and is attached to nothing internally. Biggest concern is that the plug is not watertight although I can obviously use some helicopter tape for this purpose.
Photos below, has anyone else seen anything similar on their Canyon, any ideas what this is about?

My Ultimate has it as well, it's used to secure the rear brake cable in the frame to stop it from rattling around. I know mine was attached becaause i swapped to eTap from Shimano and was able to feed the new hydro cable through it and then secure it.

Seen it on my new Canyon Endurace too. Had no idea what it was for though.

OK, so good news then that everyone seems to have this hole. I guess they forgot to attach my hydraulic hose to it... I haven't noticed a rattling of the hose so will probably forget about it for now!
Just curious, how to attache cable to this?

Simply as this, thanks.
