Extralite octarings
Carbon ti carbotech rings.
I can drop 60 or so grams for some fat cash... but i have yet to read good feedback on shifting benefits.
Any ideas or feedback.
And if you have a thm crank to sell, let me know.

Have Extralite [50/34] rings with DA9150, shifting up to the BR I found to be hit & miss. Can't recommend them. I only use them on my 2 "killer" climbs and then it is mostly in the 34............... have TA's in 52/36 good but not excellent, waiting on BOR's 52/36 to try...........

Either modify the extralites with titanium pickup pins or use carbonti which are a few grams heavier.
What I like about carbonti is that it's carbon with alloy teeth and no less than eight pickup pins. That should mean fast shifting and the carbon should help it to remain nice and stiff even for large riders.
The extralites work ok on mechanical if you set the high limit very carefully. Also you need to keep some pressure on the shift lever when upshifting.

The problem with Carbon Ti rings is - if you mess up the upshift phase on load once (especially with electronic) , you risk breaking the ring at the alloy/carbon junction.

I have a friend (a coach) whose client broke a set of Carbon Ti rings, last week. I was about to pull the trigger on a 52T, and decided not to. I'll ask him if I can post his photo.

Are we talking praxis road rings? The weigh pretty close to the the sram red rings (148g for 50/34 vs 134g with praxis for 14g savings). Might be an economical replacement when the red wears out.
I have Praxis 50/34 set in silver which weighs 127g.
On Etap, Praxis shifting quality seems to be on par with SRAM's own rings.

I run Etap on RED Cranks + Extralite rings. I've had a few dropped chains. Aviod cross chaining. They're much more senstive that stock.

I went from DA to THM with praxis rings and couldn't tell the difference, shifting was perfect, then to Extralite and it was definitely a down grade, dropped the chain so many times I've even got damage to the frame, mainly falling inwards. That problem was solved then the chain fell off the DS when ever I dropped into the 11 cog, that problem now solved. When ever I do change gear between the 52/36 I actually pause for a moment then start peddling again. A lot of hassle but I hate the look of the chunky Praxis. My DI2 gearing has now been serviced, trimmed etc so I'll see how my next ride is.
I would advice people to lean towards the Praxis but hey this is WW so I'm sticking to the Extralite. Lol.

I understood that THM se crankset with Extralite ring will definitely caused a chain drop maybe owing to the q factor. As I experienced chain drop inwardly about not less than five time, I purchased a carbonice chain catcher and the problem solved...
