Thinking about getting a set of these, but they’re expensive to get to the UK. Wondering if anyone has a set and can comment on what they are like to use?

For the same price you might be able to get a 2nd hand 52t ultegra/duraace crank and put a 34t small chainring on. Shimano has pretty good front shifting.

Not really an option, as I’ve already got my sram red chainset with Quarq power meter. I could change it all around and get a different PM but then do I really want a shimano crank on a sram bike.

Hi, i'm assuming by your user name that the 34 would be only for hill climbs?
Would Fybre-lyte chainrings not be an option as they could supply what you want with the correct BCD?

Haven’t used these but once had 53/34 combo that I set up out of curiosity. Shifting wasn’t too bad, but the gap between chainrings was too large. Found myself wanting to be between them all the time.

I've been using an Absolute Black 34T oval chainring with my 52T 9100 crank without an issue so far. Just need to be aware of the limitation and limit shifting under heavy load.

How's the Absolute black inner ring? I have DA 9000 and was thinking of trying a 39 AB oval. Do you feel it helps climbing in any way?

I have it, it shift well, but i switch small ring to 36t most of the time.
Make it 53/36 for flat land ride.
Then switch to 53/34 or even 50/33 if i expect to hit real deadly steep hill.

As others, i don't want to do 3-4 gears compensate shift at the back each time i shift the front. But if i need the range, so be it.
PS. 11-30 cassette rather than 11-28 makes 52/36 quite good. It only change last 3 cog from 23-25-28 to 24-27-30 and nothing else on the rest 8 cogs of Shimano 11-28.
With some cadence training drill i find 50/34 to be plenty too. 110-130rpm at 50/11 is plenty for down hill accelerate before aero tuck (then brake hard before approaching corner...).
