Northwave Extreme Pro Road Shoe 2019

I am wondering if anyone has purchased a pair of these and if so how was the sizing compared to whatever you had before. I have several pairs of Northwave, the most recent being the Revolution which are nice enough but they are heavy and actually not bad in the colder temps. The sizing from what I have read so far for the upper end shoes is getting narrower starting with the Extreme RR from back in 2016. I have a pair of the Extreme winter boots but they say that the Extreme RR is tighter yet compared to the winter boot of the same size. The sizing charts have not been very accurate from years ago cause I am supposed to fit in 42.5 but the 43 is as small as I can go. The sizing charts I have seen so far for these shoes are the same ones they have used since back in the Extreme Tech Plus days. It would be nice if they updated the charts.
Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated.

I was a 45 in Extreme Aerlites, then a 45 in Extreme RR but they were noticeably narrower and then I bought a pair of new extreme pro's in 45. The Extreme Pros were both narrower and shorter than the 2016 Extreme RR. I returned them...

Wow thats good to know, so they keep getting narrower and now shorter which makes it really tough to figure out your proper size when they use the old charts. My problem is I cannot find the Northwave online anywhere in Canada let alone locally which means I have to purchase online outside of Canada. This makes it difficult as you either have to guess at a couple sizes and hope one fit and return the other and I am not sure I want to tie up a$1000 in shoes. The other option is to order one size at a time and be patient with returning and reordering what you think is proper.
Did you plan on purchasing the proper size Extreme Pro cadd4rep?

Hi, I was reading this with interest as I am on the market for a new pair of shoes.
I also wear a 42.5 for everyday shoes, did you end up buying and what size?

Sorry doraymon I just noticed your post here today and I have recently purchased a pair of the Pros in 44 and they fit the same as my RRs but on another thread here it was said that the 40 doesnt fit the same. See the following from this thread
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=160294&p=1590062#p1590062

I owe a pair of Extreme RR in size 40 EU (6.5 UK). At the beginning of the year I decided to try the newer Extreme Pro, bought the same size and couldn't even manage to fit my foot in there.
I even have quite some experience wearing small footware since I've been a competition rock climber for several years and wearing climbing shoes 4 sizes below normal size is a normal practice.
The inside labels were reporting the exact same size in both the RR and Pro but I'd say the Pro was at least 1/1.5 sizes smaller than declared, surprised that maybe in certain sizes that's not the case...?

So I just purchased my wife a pair of the Pros in 42 and she was wearing a size 40 in the Extreme Tech and much to my surprise the Pros were actually much larger contrary to what has been said in this thread with the smaller sizing. I know my shoes went up one size but I likely could have gotten away with a half size bigger but it would have been tight. So I dont know if the Northwave QC is off from everyone elses experiences or have they changed up their sizing once again because when you place my Pro 44 and her new 42 along with her old 40 side by side it appears the 42 is a 42 as its split the difference between my shoe and her old shoe. I know many ppl were complaining on many different forums about the Northwave sizing. So I have ordered her a 40 in the Pro hoping like hell its comparable to her old Tech in 40. It would be nice if Northwave updated their sizing charts cause they might move more shoes. The chart they show is like 10 years old but meanwhile their shoe sizing have changed three different times.

So I have lined up all the shoes with the rear butted up against the 2by4 just to show that from the 40 to the 44 they are incrementally and proportionally longer and its too bad I didnt have a 41 to include amongst the lineup. Yes I see their is some misalignment with the 43. I ran a metric tape measure right to the furthest point at the front of the shoe and pushed it into the heel as best as I could to show that for every one size is an increase of 5mm even with two of the shoes being older Extreme Tech Plus. The 44 is actually closer to 280 even though in the pic it looks like 276.

My foot falls between a 43 and 44 but at the time of purchase I couldnt get the 43.5 but the 44 still fits well and the 43 is snug but I do normally have to modify the insoles on my left foot which buys me a little extra room for my bigger foot. With the Pro I run an ITS Wedge Left foot which takes up the additional room. I do think the Extreme RR and the Extreme Pro are a tighter fitting shoe by half a size compared to the older Extreme Tech at least in the 43 to 44 range. My wife has a little extra room in her 40 Extreme Tech so hoping the Pro 40 is the proper size even if it is half size smaller.

Just purchased the Northwave Extreme Pro 3 mainly as its supposed to have more vents and my previous Extreme Pros are getting tired. So the Pro 3 is the same sz 44 as the Pro but the toebox on the 3 is noticeably larger as it seems high on the topside whereas the Pro seems flat across the top. The soul is now unidirectional instead of a weave and it seems a little stiffer and hopefully more resiliant to scuffing. The Pro 3 dials for tensioning are spread out further with the lower dial positioned closer to the toe but not by much. The 3 doesnt have the tongue that folds across the top center of the foot but instead a traditional tongue straight up the center on the inside. On the bike it feels pretty good but it seems on my left shoe where the material comes up underneath the ankle bone it rubs which is annoying as the material is not soft and thick like the Pro but thin and stiff for what purpose I am not sure. To address the issue I shimmed up under the heel of the insole and it seems good. I dont know if its the position of my ankle bone or perhaps the shoe material comes higher on that side. Overall the shoe feels bigger mainly because the toebox is bigger and I measured inside the shoe with a tape measure front to back and its a couple mm longer than the Pro but all shoes have a tolerance of plus or minus couple mm and Northwave have updated their shoe chart with more info for those trying to figure it out although I dont think its completely accurate. Its surprising that with the toebox being bigger the shoe stays quite snug when tensioned up proper and the heel stays put as well. Even though the tension is snugged up its not like the tonque disappears so obviously the shoe is not to big for me. As for being cooler it was a super humid day when I rode these shoes so pretty hard to tell but as I passed under a section covered with trees I ever so slightly felt a difference.
