If shimano decides to reinteoduce di2 to MTB line...with the rise of dropper posts..where will they place the battery and will this inform the layout used for 9200 road? Ie will "semi wireless" or whatever be spurred on bybthe demands of mtb packaging?

MTBs have for the most part had the Di2 battery in the
steerer tube since forever. (Edit: Sorry, not the headtube!)

MTBs have for the most part had the Di2 battery in the headtube since forever.
The headtube?! Like by the steerer? I never seen this. Nvm i found. I had no idea. Been out of XC bikes.. How strange...

I see the current MTB Di2 as the end of the line for that experiement, it will exist mainly to support current Di2 users supplied with replacement parts.

Shimano has a special kind of website where all there technical files and drawings are posted as also all the product presentations.
Also the presenation of Shimano products my2021-2022 which they currently showing to all productmanagers.
