too many "market share" related posts, didnt read all, so here's some may be old news. my dealer friend told me the official announcement is now pushed back to Sept and here's a weird one...rim version isnt wireless at all. only disc version is going down this semi-wireless path... what a strange decision.
Some say pour 10ml water out of your bottle to save that last bit of the weight. Sorry, i go one step further, i tend to the rider off my bikes.
n+1...14 last time i checked, but i lost count

You can have old technology or new....your decision........I can see it makes sense. Keeps 'legacy bikes' running with a current groupset.
Kinda makes sense, if you were running brake cables anyway, one small cable alongside isn't too much to worry about. It's mainly the fully integrated disc bikes where cable routing becomes an issue.WorkonSunday wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:26 pmtoo many "market share" related posts, didnt read all, so here's some may be old news. my dealer friend told me the official announcement is now pushed back to Sept and here's a weird one...rim version isnt wireless at all. only disc version is going down this semi-wireless path... what a strange decision.

I see that as great news! I'll take a wired connection over wireless any day.Broady wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 3:10 pmKinda makes sense, if you were running brake cables anyway, one small cable alongside isn't too much to worry about. Sadly it will make complete rim brake bikes more expensive relative to disk builds.
I guess that's not a huge issue as new rim brake bike sales have almost evaporated (Pinarello F14 not withstanding).
I guess keeping the wire will also please the purists.

I do not know what the groupset price is, but honestly, when you are spending that amount of money, would you really be concerned with the extra cost?
Yes, you are correct, it would most likely be more, but it sounds trivial and if you built your own, it probably would not matter.

Yes I am a purist. I will always stay true to the original wired electronic groupsets. Wireless is just a passing fad.

Yes I am a purist. I will always stay true to the original hand lever front derailleur. i'm not going to hop on the down tube shifter fad, with those crazy steel cables.
