Most comfortable light seatpost 31.6mm
Moderator: robbosmans
Hi all,
I have a Canyon VCLS S15 on one of my bikes, which I find really comfortable and not too bad for weight. I could potentially pick up another one and shim this to 31.6 as they only come in 27.2 however I'm wondering (as I'm not sure how good that'll look) what else is comfortable and light?
Cheers, Tim

Following. I'm using 3T Zero 25 Team 350mm at 227g uncut. Comfortable but unlight.
Rikulau V9 DB Custom < BMC TM02 < Litespeed T1sl Disc < Giant Propel Advanced SL Disc 1 < Propel Adv < TCR Adv SL Disc < KTM Revelator Sky < CAAD 12 Disc < Domane S Disc < Alize < CAAD 10
Darimo. Game over.
From some reviews it looks like the clamp mechanism isn't too good (example below)... what do you think? This is a heavy post and for the price isn't really standing out for me!
"The seat clamp does not hold the seat securely, once tightened the seat can move slightly which is disappointing."
My Pro Stealth Carbon didn't move even on rough roads. I torqued the single T27 bolt to 8.5Nm (max 9Nm allowed by the 3T seat post.
Seriously considering the Darimo T2 now.

Rose RC-170 Flex is in my radar. Should be under 200 grams and not expensive at all.
Take a look at the Niner RDO Carbon Setback Seatpost. I have a 31.6 on my mtb and pushing down on the seat, while it's not crazy-flexy, you can easily see it deflects a lot more than the 25.4 carbon SAVE post does on my '15 Synapse (newest SAVE posts are redesigned to flex more). Right around 200 grams, 2-bolt head so easy to set seat angle, etc. Would be top of my list for a 31.6 road post.

I am rather sure I saw the split post in 31mm on Canyon website a while ago.

I run the Syntace P6 Carbon HiFlex 31.6 on my Litespeed T2 and it seems compliant and is on the lighter side. No MCFK / Darimo weight but a good balance of weight, comfort and cost
