hey,
So im gonna get a new power meter and was looking into getting DM as i want to swap between 2x and 1x. I have two optiions so far

Rotor InPower

Easton Cinch- This is lighter then the rotor but doesnt have oval rings, although i can easilty swap tem out for the same price
Any thoughts? Theese are very similar prices
is there any similar options for price and also dual?

I was looking into the cinch but had a hard time finding any actual owner reviews and the few users I did find weren’t too impressed by it. Some where having lots of spikes/drop outs and others were having battery issues. Granted those were only a few people but I couldn’t find much else so I opted for a quarq as it was cheaper than a 2inpower and I don’t mind switching rings to save $500

Is DM direct mount? Check out Power2Max. Their PM for rotor cranks is cheaper than the Inpower.

I wouldn't plan swapping out a spider PM too often. The hardware won't hold up. I also wouldn't plan on changing rings too often as chainring bolts and spider lockrings do not have that durabilty. The spindle PMs don't have the accuracy levels of the other solutions. I'd just go crank arm.

Edit: going 1x to 2x on the same bike doesn't make any sense. I can see changing gearing on 1x, but not 1x to 2x.

So are you just changing between 1x and 2x, using the same crank? If so then perhaps look at pedal power meters, I have Assioma DUOs and love them. I only added a quarq to my gravel bike because of the possibility of having to hike-a-bike some sections of some rides so had to get mtb shoes which forced a pedal change. If your staying on road is just go with power meter pedals and be done with it

i wouldnt be swapping out the pm spider, because its dm so the pm is either on the crank like imnpower or in the spindle like easton cinch.

i ride restrcited gearing and racing goes up some really steep hills so i need the 2x option for road racing. 1x for crits and timetrials.

I am looking into p2m, but was hoping on something that is direct mount on the crank or in the spindle.

Ill have a look at praxis later

Yeah it's a spider based power meter so you would have to swap chainrings.

Rotor has the 2 in power that is direct mount but I only see a 30 mm spindle.

The in power is a single side power output since it measuring the strain of the spindle.

For the P2M yes you are correct. but the inpower and cinch it would be chainrings, so not moving the power meter

Pedal based option might be the best bet. I went P2max on a gravel bike, otherwise would have gone with the Assiomas.

If switching chain rings for climbing vs tt/ crit are pedals staying the same?
