Use grease or carbon paste?

Since these are fixed and not compressable, they are held by pressure?

In the first post you said they must be tightened at 5Nm. What happens if you don't?

Many of us run ultralight handlebars that have torque specs lower than that. For example, I tighten my stem bolts just below 4Nm.
Hello, on my bicycle I use MCFK road handlebar which is 4Nm. I'm using these clamps with no problems at all, but I recommend to use grease for carbon fiber.

Yes! the carbon paste increases the grip! It works really well when the 2 contact surfaces are both carbon fiber.

Hello, guys since today officially I present a new superlight product for the fans of lightweight bikes.

Carbon clamps for Sram shifter. Only 13 grams for the pair included titanium screws and nuts. The lightest in the world, more than the Schmolke ones.

The weight of the original one is 34 gr for the pair. You save 21 gr.

For SRAM Red(09-12) Force(10-13) Rival(09-13) Apex 2x10 Spd Shifter Lever Clamp.

Sold in 1 pair

Absolutely secure, I tested them for 1 year. They must be tightened at 5 Nm.

I sell immediately (the first pair is available for sale) on this forum under request at the price of 75 pounds. Payment via Paypal. I can ship everywhere.

Please have a look at the pictures.

Thank you,

Andrea

Carbon seems better against carbon. But i also wonder why the pressure is applied over such a small area?
I can see it using alu bars, but for carbon i also would like a design like a seatpost clamp.
However, looking at the the shifter bodies, this is how it is designed (you have a "bolt-through" the shifter body)

These clamps look, at least judging by the pictures, way better than BTP clamps we used to buy for our pre 2013 Sram Red years ago. Overall more refined product. Big kudos for that. Having said that, once mounted not to be seen anymore. My only grpie is the price. I don't want to sound like penny counter, but this is aroud twice the price of BTP, as I remember well. Oh maybe their too low price was the reason they went out of business; ) Maybe packaging is pushing the price so high? ;)
Nevertheless I like what you came on the market with and wish you to flourish with this and other gadgetory-components we all like.

Guys thank you again for your feedback.

Why this price?

- mould (it costed me lost of money for designing and making)
- titanium screws and nuts (25 pounds for the pair)
- carbon tape
- resin

And.....hand made job price!

Each clamp will be make by hand, so I’ll get booking from the sellers!

News: I published my email on the first post for direct contact.

Thank you again, Andrea.

Schmolkes Ti kit includes only clamps, not bolts. This kit excl bolts weights 13 g.

Funny thing is that Srams manual says shifter clamp torque is 6-8Nm and not 4Nm as some bars have as maximum torque.
This makes me wonder how the manufacturer of light weight handlebars have been thinking?
Obviously haven't read the manual. Again, better to torque parts like this by hand.
Then you feel when the bolt start to bite. Never torque more than when you feel the bolt is seated properly.
