At the time Im still waiting for it to arrive since there was a stock problem with starbike..
I don’t expect dramatic differences though. It’s a simple concept. Chinese have the tools and experience to copy a saddle like this easily.
After all it’s not complicated: no leather parts, no stitching, no glueing synthetics etc.. only a mold and glueing the rails.
The only difference i assume would be: better carbon quality and finishing details.
With 475€ I demand both.

Fabric Scoop. Nice bit of flex in the hull. Sometimes get numbess if I'm in the same position for a long time, but nothing serious. Correct width has honestly been the biggest positive change vs. a specific sadle model.

Thanks man, I'd love to hear your review once you get some hands on experience with it. I agree on the seemingly simple concept, and if anything I'd think that the cheap Chinese carbon saddles would be using lower modulus carbon, so perhaps would end up being more flexible than their Euro counterpart, but I have never found that to be the case. I have probably 4 or five different types of Chinese saddles and all are stiff as a board, whereas all of the Euro saddles I used or played with like the Selle Italia Flite Evo, Tune, Bjorn, etc...have had some serious springiness when you apply weight or hand force pressing down to the sweet spot where you would be sitting, or try squeezing the edges of the wings inward. I've wondered if they use a different harder resin mix that might account for it, and would also account for the seemingly greater likelihood of the Chinese saddles cracking.

Selle SMP Composit Crb. I prefer it to the shape wise similar Full Carbon because it has a more forgiving shell. The Full Carbon has absolutely no give at all.
Runner up: Specialized Power, Pro or S-Works version.

It may take some trial and error to find the location that works best for you. Saddle tilt can also be tricky. I ended up setting tilt with the nose just a hair above the angle at which I would slide forward. If the nose is the slightest bit too high it ruins the entire feel.

Yesterday I did a complete fit on a fairly advanced fit rig, I advised the fitter that I thought he had the saddle a bit nose high and asked him to drop it a bit. He lowered the nose a touch but I thought it was touch too low so I had him raise it halfway back to the original position. Then he informed me that the first adjustment only two tenths of one degree So I am sensitive to one tenth of one degree which is astounding to me. I figured when I was fine tuning my saddle tilt it was a degree or half a degree adjustments, apparently it's much less. It certainly reinforces my point that for SQ Lab, the smallest tilt adjustments can mean a lot.

Extreme fits for the win.

I've put about 400 miles on the 612 now and it's damn fine. Since the original fitting I've raised the saddle by .5cm and moved it forward 1cm so I'm more over the raised section and in the hammock. I've also raised the nose about 1 degree.

Since then it just disappears beneath me. It's now on all three of my bikes.

I used two cheap Chinese carbon saddles, never again. They had ZERO flex and after 50-60km my arse had had enough. I’m now on a Selle San Marco Aspide with no issues.

I had the specialized Romin Evo Pro old version but the new version even heavier than before, didn’t fit my arse. Went with Pro stealth carbon as it’s much lighter but still in the break in process.

I like the 612, looks promising but porky even for the active carbon one. I just noticed the 612 has the damper... what’s that for? Make it easier on the nuts? Just curious

I'm also having a hard time finding the "perfect" saddle. And with a sitbone width at 142mm its a little harder.
I would like to try sqlab but not sure if they are wide enough in the road saddles. 610 might be the best option. Im using a cyclecross bike for everything, so a full on carbon saddle isnt what i want.

I would consider the thickness of the chamois of the bib shorts which can yield different results with same saddle.

Nobody mentions the PRO Stealth. Interesting.

Saddle finally arrived !
It’s 10 grams heavier than the knock off (I bet it’s the smp label on the back and the rails*)

*The biggest difference is the bigger and longer rails.

...but it doesn’t fit on my f**in colnago seatpost 🤬🤬🤬

Should I buy another seatpost? Maybe an adaptor?!
