What’s your favorite saddle?

Saddle finally arrived !
It’s 10 grams heavier than the knock off (I bet it’s the smp label on the back and the rails*)

*The biggest difference is the bigger and longer rails.

...but it doesn’t fit on my f**in colnago seatpost 🤬🤬🤬

Should I buy another seatpost? Maybe an adaptor?!

I had this same issue on my Time RXRS but I think it was with the SMP Composit but because it had the titanium rails I wasnt too worried about forcing it in a little.
So the knockoff is pretty close aside from the longer rails? I notice the gradutions on the rail are finer from one to the other.

I would love to hear your opinion on the Berk saddle.

The C13 Carved with carbon rail is the only saddle I’ve found to be comfortable over 1+ hours. I think it’s because the middle is very flexible. I’m just a little concerned about the longevity of the saddle. I know cotton has wear issues.

Brooks recently released the all weather (Supposed to be more durable) C13 with carbon rails but it doesn’t have a wide version.

Brooks Cambium C17 Carved has been my saddle of choice for the past few years .... I've tried several saddles and I have not found one as comfortable as this. I ride Audax (long distance), and on a ride, these Brooks Cambium are on several bikes



Downside is that it's 400 grams and I have a lightweight bike and am planning to keep the weight down

I'm going to try a Berk Lupina based on what some have said on this thread (I will save approx 300 grams) .... I will buy one in May (I have a few bits and bobs to buy this month first)

Yes you can definitely tell that the quality of the original is way beyond than the knock off.
But yes the biggest difference is the longer and fatter rails.
Also this is the latest model with matte finish and new graphics and I cannot compare them with justice.
My issue now is that I felt that the rails have almost no give and I’m afraid to force them in.
I still wait from smp to answer my mail but they take their time (the European way)
I don’t want to lose the warranty if anything occurs..

No. It lets the pelvis move very slightly.

I was there in October and had to to take a day out due to the pain caused by a Selle Italia super flow. Since sold. It would be nice to go back with a comfy saddle. Lovely city.

I have a Berk Lupina and ride with a saddle bag all the time. No problem whatsoever!

@Ringo: I once had a Full Carbon that I forced into a Campag Record post clamp without issues. I had to force my current Composit Crb into my Syntace P6 clamp too. No issues.

Till now SMP didn’t answered!! I guess they contribute to the “..Italian company’” stereotype.
I’m pissed of with them and starbike which they also are responding to me once a day.

So this is common with smp saddles? Are the rails closer than normal and need to be forced?
Is there enough wiggle room to move the rails or I should be cautious?

Is Anybody else with SMP FULL CARBON who faced the same issue?
(It’s crucial to have experience with carbon rails)

Two samples might be a wee bit low number for statistics, but in my experience yes.

Late on this thread, but when I got the Specialized Power saddle 3yrs ago....I fell in love. Battled issues for years changing and searching for saddles...now everybody makes a similar saddle...for good reason. People thought it was weird, as I did originally, but didn't care..I've had no issues with my nether regions since.

I like the Power too. Heres's my top 3 (and of course there are a bunch of saddles I haven't tried):

1) Selle SMP Composit Crb
2) Specialized Power Pro
3) Selle SMP Full Carbon

Honorable mention: I survived the niteties on what's now called the Selle Italia Classic Flite.
