Hi,

I have a Shimano Di2 R8070 groupset and yesterday when I connected the system to the PC (via SM-BCR2 charger) it gave me option to upgrade.
Four components were on the list: shifters, WU111 and battery BT-DN110.

All went well untill the battery, then it just disconnected and died.
PC link over the charger doesn't see any components and connecting/disconnecting the battery doesn't give any light on the junction box.

As far as I found I need the SM-PCE1 cable to force the firmware on the battery, is there any other option?

This is a brand new bike asembly and when everything was on the table I updated all without a problem so I didn't have any fear of software upgrade (seems that this upgrade is my last :D). All upgrade problems I saw on Internet were over mobile phone so i presumed cable should work great.

One more frustration is that Canyon mounts the battery above the BB in downtube, so if I need to replace it, new BB that is in can go into trash.

Yeah this also happend to me once. Just find a bike shop with the SM-PCE1 and reload the firmware. Nothing is damaged but your system is bricked until the firmware reflash.

Solved.

Process:
- connect the battery directly to the SM-PCE1 or over small junction box.
- go into SINGLE UNIT menu (Important)
- follow the steps (next, next, next)
- minute later battery is oprerational
