interesting. I wear a size 41.5, so that means I may need to go to a 42?

How is the sizing of the exos shoes compared to the sworks 7 - can I order the same size?

Looks like you're wearing regular socks...did you try them on with cycling ones?

Curious to see where the pressure points are.

Tried them on today. I'm usually a 43 wide. They only come in regular. I had ample room in the toe box. But they were too narrow mid foot (where I actually don't usually have width problems). The toe box just crinkles. It's super soft. Don't know how well it'd hold up to toe overlap contact.

Felt soft and comfy otherwise though for me the tongue may come up too high at the transition to the shin - sometimes I get too much rub there from shoes.

Sphyre shoes in 43 wide are my normal go to.

That toe box crumple would drive me nuts.
Same, no way I could ride those.

I'll also add the tongue extension is ridiculous. The SW6 and 7 tongue is already bad enough and digs into the front of my ankle. The 7's are borderline painful since they latch for the top BOA is so far up on my foot.

Those shoes look wack! Needs more structure at the toe box. The s works logo could it be any bigger.

For me 42 works perfectly in both sw7 and exos, and sw6 and sub6

Looking at that picture sethjs posted with the crumpled toes & the price of these I have
come to the conclusion the cycling market just assumes they are selling to MAMIL's only...
Or folks with more money than brains

This is really ridiculous :noidea:

It doesn’t seem ridiculous if you position these as truly race-only shoes that aren’t meant to be practical or appeal to most riders. They won’t sell many of them, which is also reflected in the price, but they are without doubt very good at the single purpose they are designed for. If they’d dropped the SW7 and this was the SW8, well that would be ridiculous. This is another tier above the SW, and to be that much lighter it’s got to come with compromises

I’d guess we’ll only see them on the feet of sponsored riders, serious racers, and real cashed-up wannabe’s.

At 300g per pair, the Giro Prolight Techlace is lighter than the plain Exo.

Aren't the exos 150g per side? So it's equal to the giro no?

Surprised these are getting so much hate. That is a lot of (rotational) weight to save and this is Weight Weenies.......

Agreed, I like the look of them. And that weight saving is chunky

Hmm.... I must've read somewhere it was 315g, now that I checked Specialized's own website, indeed, 300g per pair, equal to Giro.

I have the Giro Prolight Techlace, Bont Vaypor S, and another pair of early Bont Vaypors. Personally, the single BOA dial in the middle so high up the foot is not good, Pearl Izumi Pro Leader went from that on v3 to offset with v4, same with Sidi Wire vs Sidi Shot, offset with two BOA style dials just makes more sense. Prolight Techlace is extremely breathable, it's my super hot summer shoe, but other than that, my daily driver is the Bont Vaypor S, the bathtub style sole that wraps around your ankle and foot is like no other.
