Almost exactly two years ago I built up a 2007 Cannondale System Six and it's been my primary race bike since then.
It's obviously a bit dated, but still relatively light and rides great. Lately I've been considering updating the frame to something newer (not new, I'm too cheap). I have the opportunity to get a 2014 Focus Izalco Max frame.
The Focus frame and fork alone are a 1lb lighter than the Cannondale, but I'm wondering if I should expect any differences outside of the weight. In other words, aside from the weight, is there any reason to update?
From Cann->Focus?

Focus Izalco Max will be an upgrade to your system six.
I had the Super Six Evo HiMod and I also owned the Focus
Both ride very similar. Focus slightly stiffer. Evo climbs better out of the saddle. Other than that, everything else is very similar.

Thanks for the input. Could you elaborate on this? I do most of my climbing out of the saddle.

Hard to explain but the bike just feel more agile out of the saddle. Effortless flicking it from side to side and it just moves when the gradient increases. I have no scientific evidence to back it up, it mostly by feels and imo the evo is one of the best climbing bike I’ve owned. I’m comparing it to: izalco max, argon gallium, specialissima, addict sl
