Just got a reply from Tweeks that the Classic was a limited edition which unfortunately wont be back in stock.

Where did you get these, I could only find wiggle with 28mm

Did you weigh them?

found a seller on eBay Germany and also here: https://www.nubuk-bikes.de

So far only received the eBay ones, 2x216g and the third is 220g.

Conti will formally release them shortly, they put something on Instagram this week but didn't give a date.

As the transparant GP5000 has been out in the wild for a while now, is there anyone who can comment on whether these are more supple than the regular black version?

I have s-works turbo cottons at the moment and am debating between those and the new transparant GP5000, wondering how they compare in terms of suppleness (and grip).

Those tan walls are simply cosmetic, totally different way of producing a tyre than classic cotton/silk tyres.

I have both and I can't tell any difference, I suspect they have just used a transparent coating on the sidewall rather than black.

FYI these are different from the Ltd edition TDF version, that had painted cream sidewalls and weighed approx 25g more per tyre. maybe they painted over the black surface.

Thank you! I will probably stick to turbo cottons then. Now I just need to figure out whether I want to stick to regular spesh butyl tubes or try latex or TPU :D

It probably has been discussed before in this thread, but I just mounted a pair of 30c Continental GP 5000C on my climbing bike for an upcoming mountain Fondo. Mounting was easy, tires sit and roll well, happy days.
The only thing that baffles me are the tire pressure recommendations from Conti.
I should not go below 85 PSI, which is crazy high for a tire that is 31mm real width when inflated.
Silca Tire Pressure tool gives me 70 front and 72 rear.
I read the recent update of BRR on the 5000s and he has a 28c front and 32c rear with latex tubes, which he pumped up to 65PSI.
Being only 80kg WITH bike, I am pretty sure that high 60s to low 70s is the right range.
My primary concern will be speed, but obviously comfort as well.
So what are your recommendations? Why is Contis recommended pressure this freaking high?

I Guess Continental is very conservative in their pressure recommendations. Similar experience with Pirelli for me, i found they recommend 6bar +, i've been riding the on my optimal pressure at 91kg With bike without issue (5.2-5.6 bar).

@Aesch - good to hear that you didn't make negative experiences yet.
Usually I try to abide by the recommendations of manufactures, but this completely voids the purpose of wide tires.
I think I will go with 28c/30c for Fondo racing with around 70psi on both.
