Cervelo has the "E" on its head tube for a reason... "Engineering First"
As great engineers they are,
they lack in the design department compared to their competition. Not to mention fewer color choices...
The S5 however definitely struck me as a unique bit of tech.
Only issue is there's no way of determining at this point in time that it will be tossed in the bin like the Venge Vias of 2016. I want my bikes to retain its value ( or be easier to sell ) for when it does time to sell them off to upgrade to a newer toy.
Still gathering thoughts and opinions from the community. So far so good. I need to make up my mind hah.
You have a great bike.
What Team Sunweb rides will be a good indicator if the S5 is a piece of s*it

Don't want to sink your boat.. But has anyone ever told you how flexy Enve's were? .... Pretty darn flexy for their price.

Bianchi disc with Enve's ... gets my vote.
never had a problem with them... and I'm not a lightweight.

Very interesting. It definitely has a uniqueness factor to it. Do you have weights + components you are using?
The weights from magazine articles are all over the place.....
This is fully built up with 2 cages, pedals, mount and computer. Build is DA Di2 with Enve 5.6 and a stages power meter. I posted some more pics in the New S5 thread on here. If you want any other info or more pics let me know!

Awesome. Yeah. If you could provide a link to your post that would be awesome. I would check it out . Still very noobish on searching for topics on this forum.

Here you go. I'd take some outside pics but there currently is 2 feet of snow on the ground. Fingers crossed that the weather turns sooner than later.

I kinda liked this comparative review:
https://granfondo-cycling.com/the-best- ... u-can-buy/
They are short and snappy.
I would be concerned about their comments re the S5 being an unbalanced ride...
I disagree with them about their comments on the XR4's comfort. Mine was super comfortable. That being said, I did ride one that was an original production run from Tiawan (one of the first XR4's made) and it *was* harsh. Seems as though factory of origin may have an effect on ride quality! (mine was made in Vietnam).
The Bianchi will feel quite different to the Pinarello F10 - that in itself warrants the purchase. Its got a very supple, smooth ride quality. But as I've said elsewhere, it also feels a touch muted/dead. That being said why not wait like 9 months and get the new Oltre thats about to come out? The XR4 *is* old now and is about to be superceded. Personally I would freakin hate having dropped $$$ only for my new rig to be 'obsolete'.

The Cervelo is not "Canadian" and the Bianchi is not "Italian" both are 100% made in Taiwan and as far as the Cannondale......

exactly.
All bikes except Time and Basso maybe are maid in Taiwan/China/Vietnam.

The owner of my local Trek bike shop told me roughly 50% of Trek Project One bikes arrive with flaws on the paint job. Not a single issue to date with bikes coming from Taiwan. Personnaly I've had one Project One Madone which came with unfinished paint job at the BB and front derailleur hanger. My Bianchi Oltre XR4 was built in Vietnam and looks flawless. My TCR has the cleanest carbon layout I've ever seen from a carbon bike.

The xr4 is about half way through it’s lifespan. Bianchi works on a 5-6 year cycle. Expect the next one some time 2021 or 22

Oltre, XR, XR2, XR4 all came out within the space of about 8 years man (2010-2017) - thats a 2 year life cycle. The Infinito CV did have a very long life span becuase it was their best selling bike and there wasn't market pressure to update it (due to no one trumping the CV thing... according to Bianchi).
You could be right, but I reckon there's going to be a 2021 bike released next year.

Hmm true. It was a bit of an odd schedule. The xr2 replaced the xr within a year or two. 4 year gap to xr4
Wonder why...
