Anyone riding a 2018 Cervélo R5 Disc, and could confirm whether my Enve 4.5 ARs with gigantic 28mm Conti GP4K tires would fit the frame with adequate clearance?

Frame is advertised as comfortably fitting 28s, but those aren't ordinary wheels and those aren't ordinary 28s...

I've already got these wheels and tires. The tires mount just fine as long as you use the center channel properly. The combo barely fits on my Canyon Aeroad. I'd want at least a couple more millimeters radial clearance in the rear ideally. Just want to make sure there's a bit more room on the R5.

They are no more recommended by Enve on the website since the GP5000 has been released but it was the only tubed tire that Enve would kinda recommend since the 28mm GP4000s was more like a 30/31mm tire and measure 32/33mm on the 4.5AR. The GP5000 28mm tubed would not work as it is more true to size. Enve are doing internal testing to see if the GP5000 TL in 28mm is safe to ride but is not recommending it right now.

i'm not sure why you would buy a tubeless specific wheelset and put tubed tires on. The ARs are hookless and not really meant for tube and tire combo. the regular 4.5, yes. 4.5AR, no.

I dont really care what some employee might have said in a email about Gp4K... I would not use one. No one has taken the time time to update that verbage on the website... so no thanks. If you have the ARs...just use an approved tire unless you have some really good insurance.

Geez people. I'm not asking for advice whether I should use these tires or not. I've been using them, very happily, for close to 10,000 km.

I'm only asking whether that frame has clearance for them on my wheels. Thanks.

Do you recall how much clearance there was from and rear? Very tight or enough so that debris wouldn't rub anywhere?
