2018 Cervelo R5 Disc build
Moderator: robbosmans
Hi everyone,
Just got my R5 frame set tonight and super excited to share some pics! I have most of the parts to complete the bike already. This project will be based on around DT Swiss wheelset, Lighting Cranks, and etap groupo!
Here some quick pics of some parts mocked up!

The crankset looks great with your R5. What's the expected weight of the final build?
Rikulau V9 DB Custom < BMC TM02 < Litespeed T1sl Disc < Giant Propel Advanced SL Disc 1 < Propel Adv < TCR Adv SL Disc < KTM Revelator Sky < CAAD 12 Disc < Domane S Disc < Alize < CAAD 10

Finally out of the shop! She weighs in at 15lbs flat without pedals.
Here are the specs:
2018 51cm Cervelo R5 Disc
SRAM RED ETAP
DT Swiss ARC 1100 wheelset
28mm Continental 5000tl tires (running tubeless)
Lightning Cranks with Extralite 50/34 chainrings
SRAM Red 11/32 Cassette
Cervelo 90mm stem
Cervelo Seat Post
Cervelo Handlebar
KMC X11SL chain
Fizik Antares Saddle
Extralite Top Cap and Steerer Nut
Replaced front and rear R.A.T thru axles with "Robert Axle Project"
I will be getting an Extralite Stem and a lighter saddle, so the weight will keep falling. I will also need to adjust the spacers on the steerer as I think they are a bit high.

Did your bike come with non-setback seatpost straight away? If not, do you still have the setback one, and could compare the weights between setback and non-setback versions? Thanks.
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike

Hey there, the 48/51cm come with the straight seatpost from factory. I do not have the setback for comparison unfortunately.
188g inline / 208g setback - both including saddle clamp and bolts

I had to put some tubeless 5000’s on a set of DT Swiss 1600’s, they were the most difficult tyres I’ve ever had to mount...

The thing we don't realize with typical aerobar is that they effectively reduce the space between your knees and the bar by about 2cm. On the flat, it's no problem, but on steep incline, my knee comes very close to my Pro Vibe Aero handlebar. Cervelo design is odd, but makes sense.
