None of the three. You're getting shoehorned into expensive purchases because the guy's your mate or whatever.

Find a bike you really love then wait until you can afford it/get it at the price you want/build it from eBay parts.
Just the opposite really, as I can get all 3 bikes together for the price of 1.

But your right I cant say I really love any of the 3, so thats why I started this thread.

Its not a cost issue, more of a time and would it be fun to do issue

I think i would skip this to.
Partly because i want all parts to be of my own choice.
I just refuse to have a bike with parts i don't want.
Buy a frameset that you like and go from here.
Yea I tend to agree and keep going back and forth if I sould even do it.
On 1 hand it feels dumb to turn down on the other hand it sounds like a bit of a hassle as I know if I kept one I would end up changing out lots of parts.

I have done that on a few bikes. Never again. Have you, even if just for fun, looked up a new bike build?
Like really really picky?

Yeah, looked up a frameset, wheels, stem, bar etc etc etc.
But i just noted your "garage", so forget my question

Picky, yes i have even contemplated buying a complete custom built drop bar.
But it's too expensive :(

Im not a guy who buys new, I buy value, so used frames and parts normaly.

Buying a complete custom built could be very expensive.

That's for sure... But it would be great if we had a possibility to design a handlebar from certain options.
Size, flat top or angled (what degree) , drop handle bend.
Form of the top (flat, oval, round)

And to be honest, while I would pick the S3 if I had to choose, I also wouldn’t pick any of the three if I could choose so.
I’d pick a Tarmac over the R5, any other top aero bike over the S3, and a gravel bike (if you fancy the idea) over the C-series.

Looking for some input here

I good friend of mine owns a shop and I can get the below Cervelos for a really good deal right now, so what would you buy and why ?

- 2017 Cervelo C5 Disk Dura Ace 9000 / BR-RS805 hydraulic - It should be like https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Cer...Bike-2017/BRI4

- 2017 Cervelo R5 Rim brake Dura Ace 9000 - It should be like https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Cer...Bike-2017/4H7E

- 2018 Cervelo S3 Disk Ultegra Di2 ENVE 3.4 - It should be like https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Cer...Bike-2018/H2QC
i owned a S5 and i recently bought a C5.. Tested a R3 some months ago..
S5 is really an Aero bike..
C5 is a comfortable bike for endurence, granfondo's..
R5 is a lightweight climbers bike and obviously less aero

so 3 diff bike for diff purposes, hardly comparing material... it all depends you are using them for... purely tarmac and speed and less feeling in the family jewels... S5
relaxed coffee ride bike where it doesn't matter whether its tarmac, dirt, rock, gravel etc.... C5
a nice lightweight bike for every day use... R5.. (also the C5) S5 and R5 are more the racing breed than the C5... maybe for the paris-roubaix you would opt for the C5...

as we have a lot of cobbles and gravel here in NL i opted for the C5 (thanks Frankie B) cause of it's comfort. and for the wider tyres (up to 34mm)..

but in all... what are you using this cervelo for... besides cycling and impressing others...

It's a hard to answer question without any information. How flexible are you? What type of riding do you do? Do you race?
this! depends on the intended use of the bike
Colnago C-59 (Dura Ace)
Firefly(Ultegra)
Colnago C-64 disc(ultegra) with Bora 35 wheels

either c or s, if i already have the middle of the spectrum, r, covered
but as mentioned, c is less capable than a full on gravelly bike, and s3 isn't as aero-core as s5 or other top tier aeros
