Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with installing and using a Cannondale Hollowgram or a Dura Ace 9100 crankset on a Cannondale Supersix 2018 frameset?
I have recently aquired a 2018 supersix himod frameset and am debating which way to go.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

They are both good.

Shimano has better shift quality but the frame is designed for bb30/pf30 cranks in mind which shimano is not. Hollowgram is, so you save a few grams.

The opi spiderrings shift very very well.

Sisl cranks are expensive but you might be able to get one cheap 2nd hand since pf30/bb30 cranks are being phased out.

The problem is with power meter. Lets say you want to get a nice pwm and they aren't cheap. It's difficult to spend the money on a non-universal standard which Hollowgram/bb30/pf30 is.

I'm happy with using a stages pwm which you can find cheap and the weight is unrivaled.

Thanks for the advice.

My preference would be to install a Hollowgram crankset however they are expensive and difficult to source.

Hollowgrams are pretty easy to source on ebay or even local sales - facebook, gumtree etc. Both mine were bought off ebay and facebook.

If you want something inbetween the two choices but even lighter than both, then look at exogram sram red bb30 cranks. Best bang for the buck when it comes to grams/dollar.

I'd go with the SISL2 crank-set. It's what is supposed to go on that frame. I have in on my Time NXS and it's brilliant; it's very light, looks great and shifts VERY well. Dura Ace is a great crank, but it's a 20mm spindle and you'd need cumbersome and heavy bottom bracket adapters to use it.

+1 SISL2. I hate seeing Cannondales with non-bb30 cranskets on them. Search for one 2nd hand if you're price conscience.

I hate seeing any BB30 frame bike with non-BB30 cranks. All those ugly and heavy bottom bracket adapters.

I vote Hollowgram SISL2 too. Lighter, the shifting is actually very good with a SpideRing as it's pretty stiff and, in my opinion, it looks much better than a Dura-Ace crankset!

The new SRAM crank in my opinion looks great aesthetically but is only being sold in lower ratios due to the extra 10 tooth cog (I'm going Di2).

Appreciate the feedback.

I definitely prefer the aesthetic of the Hollowgram spiderings over any other crank design and just realised that my frame came with the BB so buying a BB30 specific system makes installation much easier.

My only gripe is the complete SI crankset only comes in semi compact or compact. I have never ridden either so am after a standard. I believe the SiSL2 comes as a standard. Does anyone know of any online retailers or physical stores? I live in Sydney Aus.

I meant the exogram crank with the hollow spider. Bb30 is only 350gr without rings. Put extralites and you got a 450gr crank. Sisl2 is 500gr.

Extralite rings don't shift nearly as well as spiderrings and sisl2 cranks are supposedly a bit stiffer than exogram cranks. Still they work pretty ok. For a small weight penalty you could go with carbonti rings or praxis maybe.

I ended up purchasing a new Hollogram SI mid-compact. I did a search online and found some standard sized rings these for 394AUD.

They appear to be an upgrade of the rings that come with the SI with more machining and arms.

Spiderings are bad ass- I prefer 53/39 for better front shifting but compacts are much more versatile.
