there are some used RED22 Cranksets on ebay and they are way cheaper than all Force 1 cranksets.

Does anyone know if I can I use a 1x11 "narrow-wide" chainring from SRAM with 110 mm bolt circle on it? according to SRAM there isn't compatibility but I just can't figure out why...

no issues with the chain line at all? or is it exactly the same?

I have 3 Red cranks set up with 1x with a variety of rings (Sram, Garbaruk, Wolftooth, BOR, Doval), no issues. You'll need a shorter hidden bolt or spacers.

Basically if you have a rim-brake bike with 130mm OLD, you should use rings with a 1.5-2mm offset like the Force 1 X-Sync rings. If you have a disc bike with 135mm OLD, then use rings with no offset like the Wolftooth 1x rings.

As mentioned above, you want shorter 1x chainring bolts and the hidden bolt from SRAM P/N 11.6218.017.000

thanks, that helps a lot.

if I go for direct mount, can I use all MTB cranksets on my road bike too? that would open even more possibilities for the used part market. there are many direct mount chain rings for 1x and I'd need to replace them anyhow because I need 46t

With MTB cranksets, several things are going on.

- They have longer spindles and you would need to use BB spacers.
- They have different q-factors, which affects your pedal stance-width.

I think once you add the BB spacers, you'd want to use offset direct-mount rings for optimal chainlines. There's no real fix for the stance-width issue.

Using the eewings allroad on my litespeed right now. It's direct mount so I have a 32T wolftooth chainring on there with a sram red 22 rear derailleur.

Chainline is a bit off because if the chain drops down the cassette a few sprockets when I backpedal in 32-32. I'm going to try using an offset chainring soon to see if it'll help. Shouldn't be a big problem as long as you don't back pedal

If you do go direct mount, keep in mind that the chainrings max out at 32T or 34T. Although I do hear that cane Creek is coming out with a direct mount to 110bcd adaptor

Wanna try the same, narrow wide on a Red "hidden bolt" crank. Both AB and Garbaruk says it won't fit... Guess I might just have to try and see.

It will go on a gravel, so disc. (No offset?)

Sure it will, I have both brands on Red hidden bolt cranks. Check my instagram for proof.
