Why not use a shorter stem?

That brings the top of the bars back and you can bang your knees when out of the saddle.
With a shorter reach the levers come back but the back of the bar is still far enough out.

Satori X-race aero has a short reach. But not 60mm. I think it's like 65-66mm.
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

I'd like to try some bars like these, cool.

I like the idea of the tops and hoods not being as far apart. Good for small riders or riders with short arms.

Really short reach can complicate cable routing if running mechanical shifting and routing the cable on the inside of the bars. that curve comes up really quick.

Give the Canyon H17 bars a go. They say reach is 70mm, but I reckon in reality they're more like 65mm - especially with Campy hoods, and a flat transition with bar ends parallel to the ground. I can't speak highly enough about these bars with Campy 11. I ordered a set of the perennial favourite among Campy users, Deda Zero 100, and the Canyon bars are hands-down a better shape (better finish and quality too).

Never heard of the company, but interesting products. Any experience with their stuff?

Check out the Cinelli Neos bars;

http://cinelli.it/en/prodotti/8513/

I run these in a 40cm width, very light (around 175g) and stiff. 70mm reach.

One thing though, when it comes to drop and reach. A bar designed to be in an angle, like 5-10 degree down towards shifters, if this bar is routed to be horizontal, the reach will be longer and the drop deeper. A good example is 3T Superergo. It won't hold those figures at all when mounted horizontal.

Hmmm, not on my radar screen at all. I'm a RHM guy looking to shorten reach just a bit more while keeping my stem length, and I'm a Campy guy too. May have to try a set; also intrigued by the Neos/Dinamos which seem pretty similar too.

No sure I'm following. If my bars are angled down toward the hoods, doesn't rotating them up decrease the reach? Or maybe I'm missing how you're describing the positioning....
