I've just ordered some titanium spindles for my chromoly speedplay zeros. What sort of a weight saving should I expect?

I have a set of J&L Ti spindles. Can't remember the stock weight but they're now 170g for the pair. Been meaning to get some bowties and screws but it's low priority at the moment.

So it is about 50 g. Not bad. I've see bowties for sale, 2 carbon, two titanium, but I belive with those you can clip on only on the Ti side.

Where did you see carbon bowties? I currently use the Ti bowties and have had no problems at all. I have my pedals down to 68g each or 138 for the pair. The Ti bowties weighed 8 grams for a pair.

I've seen carbon bow ties but it was awhile ago. They were for 'show' only. I do not recall where, but it was a European website if that helps.

I think it was at Dulight. one side wascarbon, the other titanium, and there was a caveat that you could clip on only on the titanium side.

What brand and where did you score em? I am pursuing this exact upgrade! My stock chrome zero weighed 111g.

All my four bikes have titanium spindles from Tispindle.com
They weight roughly half the weight of the chromolies they replace.

www.dulight.fr. There are probably many others out there, I chose this one due to (relative) proximity.

The spindles finally arrived. The weight is as advertised (my scales are not that good so 1g discrepancy is negligible). Tomorrow I will put the old ones on the scales, too.

I have a set of zeros with Ti spindles and bowties. Total weight for both pedals is now 145g

The Chromoly pedals I believe have a stock weight of around 305-310g, so the savings are pretty significant. About half the weight. Probably one of the best value upgrades you can make in terms of grams saved/dollars spent.

Yep. Great value for money by all accounts. I am planning to get the Ti bowties next time I order something else and save some more.

J&L stuff has been on point for me along with their bowties and screws. No issues with any of their products.

I replaced the spindles today and got to measure the old ones. A hefty 68 g saving.
