Hello Everyone

First time posting long time follower.

I am a total noob when it comes to bottom brackets.( now that I got that out of the way)

I am about to complete the parts list for my new build a SL6 Sworks tarmac, I decided to go with the Dura ace Di2 9150 groupset.

the dura ace 9100 crankset is 24mm diameter spindle, I want to know the best way to make it work with my frame I think is BB30 (could be wrong)

Anyone out there knows the compatibility of the Tarmac SL6 and the Dura Ace 9100 Cranks?

I attached a picture of the bottom bracket area of my Frameset any help of the parts that I will need would be greatly appriciated.

your BB is already there... cant tell the size obviously, but you can get some calipers and measure. The diameter does not look particular large to my eyes... it might be 24 already. Do you know what crank was in there before ?

Thanks for your reply, I tried to inert the crankset in there and there is lots of play it has to be 30mm vs 24mm dura ace crank

I dont know what crankset was there, I would assume the Sworks crankset possibly.

Yes this gotta be 30mm and the Cranks are 24mm.

I wish people would stop calling it a 'BB'. It´s not, it's just 2 bearings inserted into the frame.

The standard set up for an SL5 or SL6 Tarmac is 2 bearings pressed into the frame. With internal diameter of 30mm.

The Sworks crankset just slips straight in with a bearing shield either side and an adjustable spacer.

To fit a 24mm axle like the Dura Ace you need an adaptor that slides into the current bearing and reduces it to 24mm.

Cyclespeed is right, by default this frame comes with CeramicSpeed bearings for OSBB.

Take it to a shop, have them order and install the correct part for your configuration.

Good luck with that, my LBS didn´t have a clue and gave me a ROTOR Aldhu with an axle that was way too long.
They then got me a SRAM Red and installed it wrong.
Better to sort these things out yourself IME.

I’m sure there are competent mechanics out there. Just gotta find them.

No offence but you're wrong, it's a bottom bracket - OSBB=OverSizedBottomBracket. OSBB is Specialized's version of BB30. Would someone care to hazard a guess what the BB stands for in BB30? On the Ceramic Speed website the OSBB bearings are listed under the section marked bottom bracket and whilst it may not be the fondly remembered BSA threaded bottom bracket, a bottom bracket it is nonetheless. Would someone care to put a name to that area of the frame where the OSBB/BB30/PF30/BB86/BSA/386EVO/PF41 all press/insert/thread into? Let me see now - oh yes that would be the bottom bracket!!!

They can call it what they like, but it doesn´t change the fact that it´s just 2 bearings. I wouldn´t call that a BB personally.
For me, a BB is a piece that contains cups, sleeves, bearings and threaded inserts. You can´t 'buy' a Specialized BB, you can just buy the bearings……

And yet when I took delivery of my SL6 the CeramicSpeed box containing the bearings etc was clearly marked "bottom bracket".

Guys,

Bottom bracket or bearings just let it be. I agree with both of you, it does not look like a bottom bracket it looks like a pair of bearings but They do call it a bottom bracket.

Have any if you heard or tried any of these two?
