Giro Vanquish Helmet help
Moderator: robbosmans
Hey guys, so I was adjusting my Giro helmet before a ride and heard a snapping sound, turns out the plastic screw housing broke apart and the adjuster popped off.
I have taken the small black plastic that included the housing out and am wondering if there are any replacements for the black piece. I did some research online and came across a replacement that included the black piece but it’s meant for the synthe.
Do you think getting this replacement, unscrewing off the cap and taking it apart would work?- wheelsONfire

Outside of things like padding, most helmet manufacturers do not carry spares like this. Seems a shame to bin a product that could easily be repaired but then they'd be open to all sorts of litigation in the event of an accident. Not really worth their time, they might offer a crash replacement and/or discount. Contact your local Giro distributor.

What was the response from Giro?

I have this issue before with a Giro helmet. Those little screw assemblies don't last forever.
Giro should be able to sort you out. They are actually pretty good when it comes to stocking and selling spares for their helmets. They are one of the few who make replacement pad kits readily available and they have sold the Roc Loc retention systems as separate items.

My Giro dealer in Singapore offered to send it to HQ but stated that it would take 3 months, which would've been 3 months without riding, a no-go for me. So I asked if he could give me one of those Roc Loc retention systems as a spare while I fix it myself. Luckily, the black retention piece was exactly the same as the one on the MIPS Vanquish. So I replaced it myself. It was a quick 10mins job.
