Anybody mounting Vittoria Pave's 25C or 27C

Hi Everybody,

Currently dialling in my bike setup early to ride Paris Roubaix next year.

Wandering if anybody has measurements for Vittoria Pave in 25C or 27C mounted to a C17 internal width rim.

I am putting them on campag Zondas, so far my Conti GP 25Cs measure 26.8 at 100PSI on my rims, but I hear Vittorias are pretty true to size. If so I could get away with fitting a 27C Open Pave on my Nago C60.

They'll be true to size on 17c I guess.

Good choice, I still think the Open Pave is the best riding clincher period, even compared to Grand Bois / Compass etc.

Yes the pave is the best clincher for grip and ride there has been . I wonder if the new Corsa control is the reincarnation.

Since the new Corsa G+ rides much worse than the old Open Pave, I'd be surprised if the Control with added protection had a better ride - but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Amazing, many thanks for this. If they fit true to size my Conti GPs are measuring 26.8 on my rims at the moment so I am hoping I can get away with buying the Open Pave 27C!

Most important is, what tubes will you be running? I had the same issue during my first Roubaix, my bike would only accept tires up to 25/27mm. So i ended up getting a set of Challenge Strada 25mm open tubulars and mounted these with Challenge latex tubes. Heard the dreaded 'twoink' of the rim hitting a cobble about 5 times, but never had a flat. I'm pretty sure that a butyl inner tube would have flatted in such a collision with a cobble.

Everywhere where you can pinch flat ist a perfect application for tubeless to be honest.

So are we saying latex tubes is going to be the way forward for Roubaix? My only concern here was dropping psi along the way, which wouldn't be the worst I guess. It'll be 5/6hrs so not too bad.

Roubaix is perfect for tubeless. If I go next year I will be using tubeless tyres.

The or cobbles are do rough you won't notice any difference between tubes types. Imho you need a wider tyre. The last time I went I used a 30mm tyre challange Strada Bianca at 55 psi and was passing almost everyone. Wider tyres are better.

On my run next year i certainly hope to use the strada bianca 33mm tubeless. I hope to be wafting over the cobbles.
