Hi All,

Apologies for the duplication (having this discussion on my newbie thread)

I’m presently building up an Sl5 S-Works disc road bike.

After taking advice from here I decided against using my favourite super light (& super cheap) Planet X QR Skewers.

After hours of trawling the net I eventually found some Enve ti skewers at a good price £55 (considering I normally find them pricey) with a claimed weight of 55g per pair.

Can anyone find any lighter for a similar price?

Also, does anyone have any experience of lightweight Specialized bars? If not will go for my fave 3T Team Ergonova’s.

Superb, shall do, what wheels and group set are you using? Do you have any pics? Thanks for the info.

Running 9170 with climbing shifters. The s works chainset with praxis ring is very light. The wheels are roval clx 40 with no rim tape (using red velo plugs). The best upgrade though are the hope calipers rx4. Any more questions let me know. Will get you more photos when closer to the bike.

Stunning looking bike! Was about to ask about the calipers, 123g! 7g lighter than DA. Gutted I couldn’t put the DA callipers on though.

That’s an impressive weight with discs & electrikery! I’ve got the Roval 50’s which I’ll be running tubeless.

Just purchased the ‘18 Swerk cranks but want to run oval rings, probably Q rings. Would be great to see more pictures.

My plan is to go sub 7Kg.

Had a look at the Pro kit, very nice.

Cheers Paul.

Paul.

From memory, my Tune DC 100/135 are 16-17 and 18-19 grams respectively.

They don't have the highest clamping force in the world, maybe not enough for some hubs.

Why not Tune AC 130 kit (AC-130+AC-100)?
Higher clamping force with external cam skewers

Dura Ace skewers aren't light but I've had zero problems in 3 years on disc QR, the rolls royce of skewers.

I had the front wheel bounce out of fork mounts on my disc gravel bike.

I tried hexkey. They don't have more clamping power. Any thought about the DT system providing more power?? Is is true ??

take a look at the newer Enve skewers for QR. holds tighter and feels much better than the one the OP shows in the pic.

Lightest QR should be the Tune U20. I used a pair for my Tarmac SL5 disc I had before. 21g for a pair. But maybe not the strongest clamping force so depends a bit on riderweight too I guess.
