Not all bikes will get tested. Based on that, the Madone Disc for disc specific and the 2019 Propel for rim brake.

I am waiting for the felt AR to be updated this year. When the ia and ar were introduced in 2014 they were pretty $h!t-hot, and i expect a solid update in 2019. Mind you, all of the aero bikes are starting to look like each other, so the days of peak aero are here...
Even the last felt ar, or scott foil (for example) only had marginal aero gains over their predicessors. So i don’t expect revolutionary gain. The focus now is on more mass appeal (geometry), disc brakes, cable integration, and bringing comfort into the equation. The final differentiator in the world of aero bikes will ironically be weight weenism...

Maybe race endurance bikes, ie lots of comfort features/slacker HA and longer chainstays but long/lowish geo.VTR1000SP2 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 3:09 pmEndurance / Gran FONDO bikes I reckon.wheelsONfire wrote:I wonder what next trend will be, after aero disc brake?

I wonder if this ideal, one bike fits all will gain momentum?
Aero bike is more of a niche i would say

Yes, Tour Magazin probably. No one on this forum (except maybe Hambini, who was banned last time I checked) will be able to give you an objective, unbiased answer based on actual data from a fair/realistic test setup.
I think other stuff than the frames/handlebars themselves contribute a lot more to the equation, like helmet choice and fit, training your core muscles/flexibility to allow removing spacer(s), the positioning of the Garmin mount, and so on.

I’ll take a guess... the future is “choice”wheelsONfire wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 2:21 pmI wonder what next trend will be, after aero disc brake?

We are at peak aero under the uci rules, so now we just complete the swap to disc brakes, and continue to maximize both comfort and weight... both bugbears for the early aero bike designs.
I think 3t is ahead of the curve on future trends. They are making the “one size fits all” mixed surfice bike (i.e. choice) that is aero, comfortable (frame and geometry, and wide tires... thanks disc brakes), has disc brakes. Not sure about the road 1x, but 1x 12 speed will help with range anxiety, if nothing else.
The issue is that the above bike will always be a bit of a halo product in the industry because proper aero shapes and wheels need carbon, and carbon is not cheap. Not everyone can afford that.
But disc brakes that allow wider tires to allow more choice in riding terrain are here to stay.

I second that. The 3T Strada 1x felt like it was plenty ahead of trend at launch, but it will start to make a lot more sense in 2019 when eTap 12spd and other similar products have been released.RocketRacing wrote: I think 3t is ahead of the curve on future trends. It is a new point of view on "best overall road bike". Not necessarily better than current offerings, just different.
