Hello!

Just a quick question for anyone who has managed to set up their standard sram red/etap levers with cable/mechanical disc brakes.

Has anyone done this successfully?

I only came across one such question where accounts differ on whether the Avid BB5/BB7 Road disc calipers are compatible or adequate for sram's own road cable levers. Some complain of too much lever pull and others suggest that special or specific cables and some adjustments will be needed to make the combo work.

Not Etap but normal Red.
TRP Spyre -> Fine.
Juin tech F1 -> Excellent. Shorter pull and more powerful.

I’ll be rolling on Juin Tech F1s next week. The people I know that have them love them.

My eTap levers worked just fine with Spyre SLCs.

Thanks for the tips!
Would these be the F1 hybrid?
There seems to be only one store online (in the UK) that sells them and they have the R1 in stock.
Would that be the same or newer gen?

F1 = flat mount. R1 are the original model.

Oh, and ditch the original pads if you want best performance. The original pad aren't really good.
I use DiscoBrake Copper-free pad instead.

Avid BB5 and BB7 are garbage and outdated. Forget them.
