Yeah think that will be one of the lightest for sure... maybe schmolke is lighter i dont knowr3m wrote:I dont know if it's the lightest but the Expandeur Extralite Ultrastar 3 weight 5.9g
Can only do something like 2cm off so dont think i will save much with thatmorrisond wrote:Cut your seatpost - it can easily save 30-50 grams on most bikes - and it's free!
My handlebar now is a vision metron 4d what is pretty heavy with a 242 gram and i’m also thinking about sanding it... do you spray a clearcoat over it then?wheelsONfire wrote:Best way is to sand off paint (frame + fork) and even logos if you are extreme.
I sanded Easton EC90 handlebar (this was red from Easton), it was more than i thought in weight saving.
I don't remember exactly, but i think it was 25-35 grams.
Some carbon stems can be sanded internally.
Yeah bur my vision handlebar is only wrapped until the bend after my shifters so the tops are not wrapped...wheelsONfire wrote:BTW, i sanded a Zipp stem to. A crankset and a 3T Rigida fork.
Clearcoat, there are different opinions if that is needed, but to be honest, i did not.
I currently run this handlebar and will move it over to my new bike to.
As mentioned, no clearcoat on mine. Only the fork has a thin layer of clearcoat.
How much weight is off? How you mean cut out?wheelsONfire wrote:I think this is only an idea you can decide yourself if you want to do. I used Fizik Antares 00 as a project. I cleaned it in to bare carbon and made a cut out.
Then i order some impact proof gel and wrapped it with. Quite heavy material, but nice to sit on.
I don't remember what i did last time, but now it's kind of shelved
Oooh you made the cut out in a saddle without one?wheelsONfire wrote:Do you mean the saddles weight saving?
Well, alot. I have no idea right now if we talk numbers.
Cut out is what you see at saddles which have a cut out in the them.
You see lots of them here
