Just came accross the open mold thread and got a bit carried away with a lighter bike in my head now. I've read varied reports on importing framesets and parts from China where an anti-dumping levy of nearly 50% as well as VAT is placed upon the declared value of the frameset and the postage together.

Has anyone come across this? Does it apply to other components? Say, wheelsets and so on?

Does anyone know of any sellers that would have EU stock ready?

Yeah, heard and thought about this already, too.

When I ordered my last frame to Belgium I nearly paid 100% tax/extra/customs. Apparently they plan a huge logistics hub here now.

Curious how this would impact prizes and yeah, customs.

Nah just email them. They'll probably be able to hook you up with a single item. I just bought a single set of wheels off them that also said MOQ10. There are only somethings that have MOQ.

Yeah, not kidding. I was really not happy.

Just looked it up, my order was 504 USD and I had to pay 510€ customs in total.

I don't regret anything cause the bike became great but I should have sent it to family/friends in Germany, Netherlands or UK that forward the package.

Wow. Those duties are really in to discourage importing.
Happy it worked for you. I hope you get many thousdand klicks on that frame!

On the forwarding to friends and family: it could have made no difference. I mean, the levies applied to the frameset are EU-wide and not exclusive to Belgium.
