A seller in my area has a pair for $380. Just taken out of storage and have 200 miles on them. Worth the cost?

Depends. They could be fine or they could break. Problem is you can't be 100% sure either way.

Are you into vintage stuff?

I had them back in the day. They were heavy and accelerated sluggishly. They did seem to hold speed better than my 32 hole Mavic Open Pros but I soon after sold them to a triathlete because they just weren't that fun to ride.

Alright, I won't get them. I had Open 4 CD's and had the front single laced.

I ran a pair for two years when they were cutting edge and brand new.
Really weren't very good.

Really really really not very good. A serious waste of money that could have been better spent elsewhere.

Looked cool though.

If it's for vintage collection, then it could be worth (original stickers? no scratches? what freehub? and so on).
For everyday riding there are better options.

Searching around I found this vintage aero test. The Spinergys were surprisingly fast.

That sits with my recollection. They felt fast once you were up to speed on the flats but they felt heavy sprinting, accelerating, and climbing.

This thread deserves some vintage pics:

Under Cipo, they look amazing. Under us, they look like wheelchair wheels.

It’s quite a coincidence how ALL used wheels have 200 miles on them :-)

Let's see: flexy, lousy bearings. overall poor quality control. But cool looking.

I'd pass, but I lived the experience in the 90s. One rear was 2mm out of dish. Good luck fixing that!

If you don't buy them, I will! Are these disc compatible? Tubeless?
