Yeah I saw it on Glory Cycles too...they have a placeholder ship date of Jan 2019. BikeRumor says the tires are in distribution channels with plenty of inventory.

My local shop in Southern California says that they will be receiving tires next week.

Ok awesome. What store do you work at? I assume all of the other stores will have it too?

They'll be in stock next week, I just got a sample set through my work.

Schwalbe website says there is a new 30mm version of their Pro One, listed at 295g.
Panaracer Gravelking 700x32C = 290g.

The 32mm Grand Prix 5000 TL, 370g.

The Pro One doesn’t have a butyl liner...it has a very porous “MicroSkin” that is prone to cuts/punctures. It is one of the lighter tubeless offerings. Gravel Kings and Compass tires also.

The GP 5000 TL is basically a clincher with an incorporated light butyl tube.

I can air up both Pro One and Gravelking without sealant.

Haven't had problems with the Pro One, maybe my roads aren't as bad then.

Nobody said you couldn’t. Continental also says you can’t run the GP 5000 TL without sealant. When a newly installed tire without sealant deflates overnight, it’s usually because of gaps between the bead and the rim wall/bead hooks.

The Panaracer GK 32mm on a 17C rim only measures 30.5mm wide. The 32mm GP 5000 most likely measures wider than 32mm.

I’m interested in 32mm tire for training and foul-weather but 370 grams steers me away. With sealant, it will be pushing north of 400 grams. I can’t imagine that many riders would be excited about 25mm and 28mm. Integrated butyl tube + sealant = overbuilt German engineering.

The Pirelli Cinturato Velo TLR weighs 350g for a 32mm. That’s probably the main competition for the GP 5000 TL.

Cool !

Still a shame that the GP5k is still 110TPI. Heck, that is the clincher version. The TL is 60TPI even !!!

I have noticed a positive difference with 120TPI and 127TPI tyres compared with the GP4ks. Hoped that they would get closer or over the 127TPI mark as well when they announced the GP5k.

I called the various distirbutor today and here none knew anything more than what they read in the press this morning.

Tyre with butyl lining do tend to be heavy compared to tyre without that lining. I am keen to try them and see what conti have done.

I actually make the test of GP 5000 25mm section (not tubeless) : https://www.matosvelo.fr/index.php?post ... 0-tubeless
On my Campagnolo Neutron wheels, the real size is 25mm.

I'm glad to hear that they measure 25mm!
