Mavic Ksyrium Pro Carbon UST 2019 and impossible to fit (I am able to fit ANY other tyre and I know all the tricks) Gave up too and returned the tyres. Maybe the 25 mm version is too narrow for the wide inner channel of my rims (21 mm internal 27 external). 28 mm or 32 mm version will be better? Worth a try? (I hate Mavic Yksion UST since too fragile)
Thanks
Have same issues with my dt swiss rim... It a nightmare even with tyre levers, not a chance... Probably get the kool tyre tool to try

I have trouble to make 25mm GP5000TL air tight on my RRU45C02 LB rim. https://www.lightbicycle.com/45mm-deep- ... rface.html
From the profile it appears to me the hook area is too shallow to lock bead of GP tire. In comparison I have zero issues to make air tight Schwalbe Pro Ones and they have visibly smaller beads. Looks like I will have to sell the tires and get some new Pro Ones, or try something else Hutchinsons maybe..
does anyone have these rims and have a good seal with GP tires?

Really wish I would have tried these on the my Enve's 5.6 before the Rovals... Enve's historically have been more of a nightmare to mount tubeless for me... these 5000TL's went on so easy on the Roval CLX50's.. I thought I was dreaming.

Enve has said they do not recommend the GP5000TL on their wheels and do not use them.

your statement is false

that's for 4.5AR only....which are hookless. Even Conti says dont use on hookless rims.

Just got my 28mm and they weigh 337 grams. Hope they last a long time. Going to be mounted on 19mm internal rim. Got them for the comfort factor more than weight.

Sent from my LG-H700 using Tapatalk
Mine came in the order or 330grs/313grs (or so, I will edit when I get home)

Mounted on 17mm internal rims they gave 27.9mm but I guess they will have to stretch a bit. My Sectors were 28.9 or so on the same rims but these had 2k kms on them.

They were an absolute pain to fit to Giant SLR 1 carbon rims. Like really tight fit. Hardest tyre/rim to fit that I've experienced personally (riding tubeless since 2013 on the MTB and since 2015 on the road bike). I had to use a lever to fit the FIRST bead onto the rim on one of them. Went in with two thick levers and a lot of swearing.

Once in place, they aired up stupidly easy with a floor pump. Just take it to 90psi and beads pop right in. That said, being the beads so tight, I would have been utterly disappointed if it wasn't the case. The front one deflated once after initial inflation, I don't know why. Checked for leaks, aired back up and all was good. Running 30ml of Stans sealant on each. I dread the day I have to put in a tube in these babies as the beads are super tight.

One ride in, so too early to tell. They feel faster but not as grippy as my former Hutchinson Sector (they're heavier than the Sector too). They run a bit smaller than the Sector so far. Let's wait for some stretch.

My 25's stretched out to a touch over 26 mm @ 80-85 PSI.

Can absolutely attest to this. It was a PITA to mount them on SLR 1's. I managed by using a rag in my palm to push and really focusing on rolling the tyre over the rim while using a tyre lever.

Was going to try a 23mm GP5K TL on my wto rims but they dont seem to exist which kind of puts a spanner in the works.

Would have been useful as I want to swap out my front tyre anyway because it has a 3 inch cut in it that I have absolutely no idea what caused.

A cut that long, I’d suspect a manufacturing/construction defect..,

Difficult to prove that though, doubt warranty would be useful.

I spoke with Enve recently on the the GP5000 TLs, and they highly recommended them for my 3.4 (not AR) and 5.6 discs. Waiting for my Schwalbe Pro Ones to wear out, and then I'm going to give them a go.

indeed.. my 5.6 disc have a not so old pair of turbo cottons on them... I've been hearing rumors about a turbo cotton replacement from spesh that might be tubeless. Hope the timing is right.

Anyone experience these little strings coming out from their tires ?
If you pull they strip all around the tire.
I never tried to pull them until some end, and cut them. But they seem to grow again little by little after being cut.

Not sure if this makes the tire more fragile, but they leave quite large black spots on stays or fork where they hit them.

^ Roval CLX 50 DISC with ContiGP5000TL 25mm: 4,95bar 26,6mm, 5,98bar 26,8-27,2mm, 7,04bar 27,1-27,4mm. Was measured immediately after mounting so after few weeks might be a little bit more.
Did you have any issue getting the bead to seat? I have CL50, same rim profile as the CLX50, and i tried two hours last night trying to get the GP5000TL 25mm to seat with an air compressor. I could hear a few pops and it seemed to hold air but as soon as i deflate the tire to add sealant, the bead came unseated. Not really sure what i am doing wrong. I gave it another go this morning with soapy water around the rims of the tire. Same outcome

Yes a few of us... I noticed one fraying off after a brief foray onto gravel, but it seems to happen even if you stay on tarmac 100% of the time. It frays right at the top of the bead. Like you said, pulling just makes it worse. It also leaves a very obvious "crack" at the bead/sidewall interface.

I did not perceive it to be a grave issue. My GP5K TLs failed because of their generally fragile/thin sidewalls. I've since switched to Vittoria Corsa TLR G2.0 and am far happier with their real-world puncture resistance. The Corsas are also the grippiest race tires I've ever used while the GP5Ks were average at best.
