nice review! i sound like a broken record, but IME the 32 TLs went on almost TOO easy on Reynolds and Easton rims. there's just as much blame on some rim mfgs as on conti. there must be alot of variance out there.havana wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 9:16 amI've published my long term review: https://www.cyclocalendar.com/news-item ... eview/1120

Does anyone know what this is? Looks like a Conti GP5000, and has brown side walls (like the Urban), and it looks like 23c, because it sis quite flush on the mega narrow ZIPP 858:

Wouldn't you agree, that the color looks completely differently? Bright yellow vs Chocolate Brown... Also, the GP5000 TDF version was only released in 25c. I am pretty sure these are 23c.kevinw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 3:25 pmI assume its just the tan wall clinchers?

Yes that is exactly what they are, they are called the classic, they are not painted cream like the TDf ones it is just the natural colour of the carcass. They are available in 25mm and 28mm but no tubeless version, they also do not carry the weight penalty of the tdf version.enricobraglia wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 2:46 pmMaybe they are theseFlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 3:40 pmWouldn't you agree, that the color looks completely differently? Conti don't seem to be promoting these yet but you can buy them from Merlin. I have them and reaally like the look of them.

Am I just unlucky, or can the GP5000's be a little disapointing? I've been running the regular ones for 4 years I think on my bike with almost zero issues. They did get square yes, and a flat tire here and there, but nothing a new tube couldn't fix. I built a new bike that could fit wider tires, but I stayed with GP5000's because most of my riding is on the tarmac. I choose to go for TL versions because that seems to be the bomb nowadays right?
So around 6 months later I've gotten 2 flats, both of which were not sealed up. I've been running both Stans and Orange seal with the same outcome. I managed to patch the first hole without a problem. However I am very not looking forward to looking if I can patch it because it's super difficult to get them off and on my LB rim. I think if I have to do this on the side of the road I could better just call someone to pick me up. I always carry a spare tube, but that's useless if I can't put it in, lol.
Also the sidewall has lost many wires in the first few weeks (seems to be okay now), which scared me at first.
The regular ones were perfect I think, not the easiest to put on, but still miles ahead of the TL version. So is this how it goes with most of them, or did I just have a bad batch or something? Is there maybe something similair fast with a bit less of a struggle to get off and on? And offer simialir or better puncture resistance?
I'm doubting to go from 28c to 32c in the rear, not sure if that makes putting them on the rim easier? I would hope so... I'm open to suggestions. Going to sleep for the night to gather some courage to have a look at this rear tire again, lol. Only got around 3800km on it, so I would expect it to go a bit longer, but it's looking pretty bad already. My regular versions lasted me around ~5000km every time.

They're not tan wall, they're called "Transparent".
Coming out in tubeless guise soon.

Banged a 25c GP5000TL on my front Prime rr v3 this morning.
Went on by hand no worries and seated with my track pump.
There must have been issues originally, given how many people I've read having difficulties online.
Perhaps they have slightly modded them or they just agree with those wheels? Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

After 1.5 years I just replaced my rear GP5000TL. I probably got 5K miles out of it. I'm going to let the front continue on rather than rotate them.
Do people think there have been running changes to the GP5000TL? My first set would not stay on my Farsports rims. As soon as they were deflated, they would immediately pop off the bead lock. They also took 120psi to pop on.
The new GP5000TL I installed went on so much easier and didn't require 120psi to pop on. Actually I never heard it pop. It just went on and held full pressure all day without sealant.

It's the transparent color. They are a red chestnut tone. Looks nice. Here it is on the Gran Prix Classic. https://www.amazon.com/Continental-Gran ... 1138&psc=1enricobraglia wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 2:46 pmMaybe they are theseFlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 3:40 pmWouldn't you agree, that the color looks completely differently? Not sure, I've put a new pair on Light bicycle rims yesterday. And they were impossible to put on without the dedicated pliers.
These are the only tires I can't put by hand.
Or maybe I got an old batch.
