yeah the SLR integrated bars are super stiff. i like them though, especially for climbing out the saddle.

I think the SLR0 42mm wheels would be perfect on the TCR. Aero but not too deep. 50 and 60mm wheels on any non-aero bike always looks a bit too much for my tastes

Giant Alpecin use the Dura-Ace C50's a lot and I think they are spot on but the hard part is finding as disc variant with thru axles.

Quicly reviving this subject, orderred a new SL in Chameleon Blue after seeing the builds here. Im thinking about stem bar combo, does the contact SL aero stem fit the TCR (edit)?

https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Giant-Contact- ... 209335.htm

Im not sure the SLR Flux looks that good against the smooth lines of the TCR, it looks a bit boxy on the front.

I was at my local Giant dealer this past weekend looking into pretty much this exact subject. I was hoping I could run the new Defy stem and cover and run all my cables fully internally on my TCR.

General consensus from the owner was that yes, the stem would fit no problem as it would have the 1.25" steerer but because the Defy and Propel both have a small hole in the top tube behind the stem for internal cable routing that the TCR doesn't have you wouldn't be able to run your cable fully internal.

I don't see any reason this stem wouldn't fit but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes it wouldn't work for cable hiding I was just looking for something that would suit the frame tubing profiles.

I may look at the pro vibe stem and aerobar combination.

Ah, gotcha. My front runner in this race the the Pro Vibe stem aero bar combo. I keep hoping Giant will release something I"ll love but everything aero seems to fit great on the Propel but always feels a bit "off" to me on a TCR.

Basically, if you get the propel bar and propel stem will this fit a TCR?

It may need a spacer or two underneath as the propel has a rise on the front of the frame, I run one small spacer on my 2013 TCR so i asume ill be doing the same on my 2019 model.

Really, on Greg Van Avermaet's tricked out Giant Gold TCR SL, I don't think so....What makes you think it's a Trek?

It's a TCR not a trek. I imagine they're a pre production model maybe replacing the SLR aero integrated bar with this one. Looks far superior.

this stem/bar combo will be released in september. I have a giant TCR and informed about the stem/bar combo on velofolies this year, there they said it would be available at the end of the year :). For now its only for the team CCC riders to test it

grtz
