I want to buy some brake pads (for aluminium rims) for my Campagnolo brakes.
Based on the existing pads it seems I need to buy BR-RE700.
However, I came across BR-SR500 and I'm wondering about the difference(s) (besides the price).
Is the compound different and if so, are the BR-SR500 "better" for braking?
Some websites claim the BR-SR500 are only for brakes from 2015 on, while others state 2000.
AFAIR in some thread a new brake compound was mentioned, but without any reference to a specific part number.

SR500 have a cutout for the pad rentension clip in newer (2011+ I think) brake shoes. They will fit in anything the RE700 fits (2000+), but not the opposite. No idea if the pad compound is different.

I would buy Koolstop "Campi Super Record" Salmon pads (KS-SRSA) if you have skeleton brakes.

+1 on Koolstop's, but I'd go the blacks personally.
