hi guys

anyone have real life experience with the Factor One...i am a bigger rider 6ft3 90kg, aiming to use bike for mostly rolling races in the Vets cat.

i had a storck aerofast G2 (bottom model) and enjoyed it but found it to be too one dimensional and simply too heavy.

Choices are either XR4 , Madone or Factor One...but heart is going with Factor.

Also interested in what the rim brake version weighs for the 2018 version with Etap.
I narrowed my choice back down to rim brake bike: Tarmac Sl6 or Factor One V2.

It doesn't look like this frameset is designed with low weight in mind.
I noted it was only produced in 150 units.
Perhaps you'd need to mail Factor directly to get those numbers...

thanks - frame and fork look like they are in circa 1,3 - 1,4kg territory for 54..so not too bad

I have owned and ridden both a 2018 Trek Madone & Factor ONE

Both were a joy to ride....

to stand out from the crowd - FACTOR (its a great ride , but i feel that both being fast, the Trek was more comfortable)
for a great ride (surprisingly comfortable) - TREK

my 2 cents.....hope it helps....to add, both bikes were built easily below 6.8kg...if i can remember correctly the Factor was 6.7 & Trek 6.6

i hope the links below will help

thank you.

the bike will be used for racing mostly, so from that point of view should be ok in terms of harshness etc. will also run 25-28mm tyres to make life a little softer

If purely for racing I feel compelled to point out that these are two of the most expensive bikes on the market, so perhaps worth keeping in mind, as racing does involve crashing unfortunately...

I wouldn't race my best bike either, but you're assuming money is an obstacle for everyone

True. I often forget all I have instead of money is plenty of reasons why I feel it shouldn't be a problem for me (and yet it is...) :(
