Currently ride a Dogma F8 with Campy & Lightweight wheels. Great, super responsive ride. A little harsh, can’t run wider than 25mm tires.

I would not have the urge to change bikes, but during a long decent down from Timmelsjoch (Passo Rombo - 2500m), I did not feel secure with the rim brakes squeaking.

While I never thought I’d appreciate disc brakes on my roadie, I am seriously considering making the switch. Moreover, i am 99% of the time in the big ring, feeilng that I could do with 1x.
What is the opinion on the 3T Strada (Pro)?

The geometry is quite different between the 2 and I’ve read /heard that the 3T is laterally soft not inspiring confidence when descending.

You may want to pick a bike like the Tarmac or Izalco or R5 and optimize it aerodynamically maybe even converting to 1x.

F8 + Lightweight, no wonder it rides harsh!
Perhaps you should email Jedi sports and ask Stephan this quesion?
They sell both Pina and 3T. He's a biker himself so my guess is, he might be able to help you out :-D

Any bike can be 1x.

You may just need a change of tyres.

Surely with x1 you'll easily be spun out on every fast descent and run out of gears up every steep hill?

Then you're braking in the dry with rim brakes on carbon it's scary?
Simply buy a set of moderately lightweight alloy clinchers like PR 1400 DICUT 21. https://www.dtswiss.com/en/products/whe ... -dicut-21/

Yes, rim brakes can offer good and predictable braking power. I have HED Jet's on my TT machine and braking is superb. However, for the Dogma I feel that an allow braking surface (and usually lower depth-wheels) is not an option. Disc brakes, on the other hand, allow for deep section wheels without sacrificing braking performance.
Has anyone here ridden the 3T Strada?

Make of it what you want

Negatives seems to be lateral stiffness and still, inspite of 3T's claims, too tight tire clearance that results in paint damage.

Because it looks awful 😎

The difference aero to non-aero is not great when round water bottles are added. Just get aero handlebars. As for the braking, try different pads.

I currently use lightweights one brake pads, any recommendations?
